Shhhhh.... Super Secret!

I've got a super secret and I'm bursting with happy anticipation for the eventual outcome. Thanks to each of you for weighing in with your answers to my dog-clothing inquiry; now I have another question for one and all... have you ever created, or purchased, or imagined something incredibly wonderful for someone else? Isn't it just the best feeling ever?? I have created something. It's for someone that I love and I know she will adore it. I must admit that I absolutely detest being surprised. (In the "SURPRISE!"... "there are dozens of people in your house" sort of way.) It's taken decades of living and understanding that the people I love (and love me) want to surprise me at times, allows me to be OK with this! But, I digress... I have a secret. A super secret, and I will share photos soon; of the "creation" and it's recipient, please be patient! Now, the question for you: what is the best secret ever that has strained your bodily seams of containment? Does it bring a huge smile to your face just in the recall? Please share, if you will. I promise I will reveal mine soon. In the meantime; shhhh.... I've got a super secret!

Life is good!

Let's see, what would someone named "Mrs. Good*NEEDLE*" possibly create???

Anyway, here's my reply to your question: single seat Harley Davidson softail motorcycle for Mike.

When you are growing up, you need a person out there who supports you no matter what. Mike watched me enter the law as his office assistant when I was in high school. Then he watched me walk away from the law, and college, but supported me none-the-less. He says now he always knew I'd return to the law, and I finally have (about 13 years later). Now I'm working for him, and I cannot list the ways in which he helped and supported me in law school, and now as I find my feet as a new attorney. You know, little things like GIVING ME A JOB. Stuff like that, and a thousand other things I probably don't even fully remember.

No one ever gets through law school on their own, it takes a network of support. But Mike is a shining light of support and inspiration. In short, he never once told me how to live my life. He simply lived his in a way that inspired me to follow.

Why a Harley? He loves to ride his motorcycle, but it's a three seater (two seats plus sidecar). Even though he rarely takes anyone on it with him (beside his golden retriever) the single seat Harley is a symbol. He struggles to find time to be alone and think, but relishes the opportunity to do so. The reason he can't get time alone is that he's so busy working to build a business that I'll take over one day. He's busy building his legacy, teaching me how to build my own.

So in return, I hope someday to be able to afford to give him a place to go where there is only room for one, a place where he can soak up all that God has created around us, something he loves to do one on one with God and God alone.

I think about it alot. And I think I better get to work right this minute to get one step closer to making it happen.

See ya!

That's a beautiful reply and the gift will be perfect (whenever it happens) for all that it represents! You are wonderful.

Oh yeah, and here's one that's a little more short-term. I am already in the planning stages of this year's Christmas boxes that we send out each year. This year's theme: "Lots of cookies that are really bad for you." It's not a catchy name, but it's accurate.

Let's just say I'm about to unleash about three years of law school's worth of pent-up Christmas cookie energy, and you're one of my targets.
