Click, It's Gone...

We've acquired a cat! She's a sweet little cat, but quite elusive, she makes her rounds at night. I don't see much of her during the day, but my detective skills are put to the test and I'm usually able to piece together her nighttime route, which regularly includes a quick tour of the top of my cutting table in the Studio! I find little things; a spool of thread or some cut fabric triangles "mysteriously" on the floor each morning. The day before yesterday I noticed the Olfa mat was askew, no doubt the result of a leap to the floor! I straightened that back into position and went about my day, never giving it another thought. Until yesterday, that is; I was in the Studio and went to turn on the news while the iron was preheating... I couldn't find the TV remote anywhere! I searched and hunted until I remembered the escapades of the previous night. The Olfa mat that needed straightening sits directly above the trash can; the TV remote sits on the Olfa mat at exactly that same edge of the table! Oh, did I mention that the trash is collected on Wednesdays? My discovery was exactly one day too late! We'll have to figure out how to program an existing remote to work or get a new one. Hannes is completely put out with me and my husband these days. He discovers the mysterious kitty, under a sofa, chair or bed; he barks and carries on... then comes to get me. He stands up on his hind legs and whines and begs as if to say "C'mon... you're not going to believe what I found", he seems confused when I pet him and murmur, "It's OK". Nonplussed, he does the exact same thing all over again when my husband comes home from work, he gets the same reaction. This vying for understanding begins all over again after dinner, barking and crying: "Hey guys, there's a cat in this house! Isn't anybody going to do anything about it for crying out loud?" I wish I could push his "mute" button sometimes. Oh, yeah... I forgot, no more remote; timing is everything.

And so it goes...
Life is Good!

Thank goodness for a sewing studio with a door! Of course, I don't have any furry companions anymore so I don't have to worry about items dissapearing.

A CAT! Oh, DO tell more! What's her name? A KITTEN or full-fledged cat? Post a picture! Tell ALLLLLLLL!!!!!

I have a small collection of primitive Noah's Arks. (I don't tell many people this because they will BUY them for me and you have no idea how many really bad Noah's Arks there are out there, but once again i digress.) (I mean, especially the Precious Moments ones.) Okay. I think I've got a grip again. ANYWAY, one is on the dining room windowsill and often during the night Bodacious will go up there and prowl around and we'll get up to find an elephant in the front hall or a camel under my chair. One day this week Noah himself was on the kitchen floor. Congratulations!!!

Thanks for you sweet comment on my blog. I couldn't find you in my sideline so I came and was going to resubscribe (coz I knew I'd subscribed before) and it told me I was already a subscriber. It took me forever to see it in the list. I just rearranged it the other day. lol That may be a clue that I have too many on the list, huh? Oh well...my blogger buddies sure do make me happy.

Listed under Clubs, Bees and Guilds. Sounds like fun. Hope to see you there, I plan to be.Hopefully there will be enough interest that she will keep doing this for a long while. I would like to have just a portion of her knowledge!!!!
It was a beautiful day today, DH and I finally got out and walked. I haven't had any tennis shoes most of this week, and didn't want to walk in my regular shoes. EXCUSES!!! They were in our vehicle and it was in Liberty, N.C.

And how did you acquire a cat? I mean I think it wonderful, there's always a cat that needs a good home! Did it find you or you find it? I've been really surprised at how many quilters are also cat lovers. I thought it was only me. (Of course I'm a dog lover too...) Yes, please let us know its name so we can welcome it properly! Watch your pincushion! (My cats' favorite toy!)

That's the law of sod - of course it wouldn't go in the bin the day after the refuse collection! What a little minx - but a nice one to have :o)

Congratulations on the cat! MacBeth is now good friends with one of our cats (Brownie) however he and Goldie just ignore each other. Brownie is a fabric thief. I can't tell you how many times I've found her little stashes under the bed, behind the door...even caught her stuffing a block between the couch cushions!

Thank you for this story. Reminds me of my last furry buddies. I didn't quilt at the time but knitted and cross stiched -- you would not believe how far a skein of yarn can go.
