Meet Turbo

This is Turbo, she's the elusive night-stalking little kitty who has taken up residence at Chez Goodneedle. There were many questions last week when I began a post with "we've acquired a cat"! Actually, Turbo came to us as package deal, a three-fer; as she came with our son and his dog, Diesel! She's Kyle's cat. Yes, the family dynamic has shifted, again. It's all for the good. While Kyle finishes school, he can concentrate on what he needs to (studying!) and know that he has a hot meal here at the end of the day; we love having all of them back home again. Anyway, back to the cat... she's been amusing us ever since she moved in by finding the most unusual places to hide. This is where I found her yesterday; she crawled up between the top sheet and the comforter on Kyle's bed and curled right up, smack-dab in the middle! Only the slightest little bump in an otherwise smooth bed gave her away. I couldn't resist taking her picture here. She's giving me a look, as if to say: "Uh-oh, am I ever busted..." Yep, you are!

And so it goes, the rest of the story, as Paul Harvey likes to say. Life is anything but static.

We have gained an outdoor "sentry" too; Diesel keeps the deer and critters at bay and happily greets human guests at either the front or the side porch, all 50 pounds of tail-wagging exuberance masquerading as a Labrador Retriever. Does it get any better? You know what I'm going to say...
Life is Good!
It is, it really really is...

Your empty nest isn't so empty anymore. I bet it has it's positives and negatives. ;-)

Turbo is very sweet and it seems fair that she should get to hang out at your house since Diesel has had a lot of time with you. Equal time for the grandpets. I have a grand-dog and a grand-cat and both have psychological issues....and my kids seem so normal!! I hope it's not a premonition of how my grandchildren will be! Hahaha!

Much love to your little menagerie!

I used to have a little poodle that would crawl under the covers to the foot of the bed to sleep. I wonder how they can be under all those layers of covers and not smother!!! Goofy fur kids!

Thanks for the reminder about God's time line. Life IS Good!

I'm sure it is good to have your son home where you know he is safe and sound. I am still trying to figure out how to treat a new adult - I want her to have the respect and to make her own decisions - but sometimes when the decisions are not so smart, well, I'd rather help guide her in another direction!

What a nice cat! So cute! My daughter would really like a cat like that but I don't want it! Ando so sometimes we 'fight'. Today she saw this picture and she started asking me to buy her one! She seemed a little child! so funny! ciao, ciao

I love both of those photos. I have a grandcat, Munson. He is named after a character in Pulp Fiction.

Yeah for you! Yeah for Turbo and Diesel! Yeah for Kyle too! We have one cat who loves getting into the bed after the sleeper has gotten up in the morning. I hate to go in and make the bed and disturb the cozy little figure.
As for your previous post about ironing! Please come live at my house! (or give me some ironing pointers! I feel like I'm wrestling with the piece of clothing I'm trying to get nice!)

Turbo and Diesel look like good additions to your household. And I'm sure having your son back under your roof will add much to your daily life.

It is always nice to have our children back! I have one granddog, & I love him. He comes to visit, but doesnt stay.
That little kitty is sweet. I would like one, but GOM says no.

The return to the 'empty nest' by grown children is always a welcome event at my home but so far I've not had to take in the live-in pets, which is good for me, because I'm admittedly not much of a indoor pet person, no matter how lovable and sweet they are. We had a Maltese named Caesar for a few years who was a challenge in the house-breaking sense and I believe that experience is what made me decide that future pets would have to live outdoors. Since then we had a wonderful yellowish-orange cat named Henry who showed up on our doorstep practically starved to death and we adopted him and he was the most lovable pet after he adjusted. He's gone now, but we miss him.
