WIGIAT?*

*Where Is God In All This?

I'm shaken beyond understanding regarding this senseless massacre at Va. Tech. Where are we safe? How could this happen in Blacksburg, VA? How could this happen anywhere? My 'mother's heart' is split wide open with sympathy for other mothers and yet their pain is so far apart from anything I can relate to or feel. I am left in shock and reeling from such profound, deep sadness. Where is God in all this? He's right where He's always been reminding me that there is good, there is God, everywhere; good triumphs over evil every time. The sunshine will break through the clouds, it's been there all along. It means more today than ever to know that "Life is Good", on days like this, though, my head needs to convince my heart all over again. Please join me in prayer for the families, for the school, for the Virginia Tech community in these next few days. I pray that God's sure and certain presence will be recognized, will break through, and provide merciful comfort and steady reassurance where it's needed the most.

I have been praying hard for all affected by the horrible shootings since I heard the news yesterday. I am so very sad for the families...the uncertainty and worry they must have felt is incomprehensable. I called my far away college son yesterday just to hear his voice, and he understood my need and was so very sweet to me while I was opening my "mother's heart" to him. I heard from all my kids yesterday....if tragedy does nothing else, it reminds us to show our love to those who mean so much to us. That's what God does for us every moment. May all the grieving families know God's comfort and be soothed by His grace.

Here you expressed in words what I was feeling in my heart but could not put into words...thank you...my heart is grieved not only for the tragedy itself but for the state of mankind which has reached the level where these occurrances are no longer the first of its kind but rather repeated incidences and that there are so many deeply disturbed indiviuals whose choices are to act out these horrific deeds. Knowing God is with us is our hope.

I grew up in Blacksburg, I and most of my family have and do work at Tech, and I am in utter and total shock! Thank you for your prayers.

Where is God in all of this? God is grieving. God knows what it is to lose a child.

Last night my older son came home from school (college), my younger from high school, we all had dinner together. I told both my sons I loved them, but I say I love You everyday and at the end of every phone call.

I keep asking myself how could someone hate so much to kill and kill people they do not know.

It is beyond shocking, but God is here. He gives us free will, and so we are left with all those decisions to make. We pray for his guidance and love and for the souls who died and their families and the family of the gunman and for his soul, as well.

God bless us every one.

Words can not express the profound sadness these poor families must be going through.Hopefully we are all praying for them. May God be with them.

There are no words to describe the grief that the families and students are feeling. The pain must be beyond belief. We can lift them up in our prayers and continue to love those we know and care about and pray that God will somehow ease their agony.

Thre is not real making sense of this. The videos they are showing this morning are just too surreal. I'm not sure they should be giving him so much air-time. Could it only encourage outher attention seekers? So sad.
