Advent 2 And 300 Posts!

We continue to count our blessings as we prepare our hearts and home for Christmas 2007! We had a very exciting weekend in the Capital City with our daughter and son-in-law; along with the planned activities they also bought a house while we were there! We couldn't be happier. The location, the size, and the style are completely perfect for their needs! After all of that excitement on Saturday we went to bed knowing that we would need to get up fairly early the next day. We were going with our daughter and son-in-law to a small cafe near the new house for breakfast; there, we were meeting up with his parents, as well as their realtor--to sign the necessary papers, at 8:30. Following that, we all planned to tour the new house. We didn't set the alarm clock; since my husband and I are early risers we knew we'd awaken with ample time to shower and get ready. That was, indeed, the case! The clock beside the bed was a "talking alarm clock", I discovered. At one point in the middle of the night my husband asked me if I knew what time it was. I had to turn on the lamp to see that it was 4:15 AM. That's when I saw the words "talking clock" beside a large button on the clock's top surface. The next time my husband inquired about the time it was still dark, but I reached around and found the button. "It is 6:15" announced an odd, electronic voice from the nightstand. My husband got up then. He took the dog out for a walk and showered and changed before he came in to get me at 7 AM. Plenty of time, I thought. I was out of the bathroom, all dressed, make-up on, ready to go... when I discovered my husband watching the morning news and grinning broadly in my direction. "Are you ready?" he asked. "Sure, what's so funny?" I responded. "Someone forgot to "fall back" with their talking clock", he laughed. Oh.

My son-in-law makes really good coffee. I had the occasion yesterday to
fully enjoy several delicious cups; after all, we had plenty of time!
In honor and celebration of 300 posts Mrs. Goodneedle will draw
a lucky name from all of those who leave a comment
on this post entitled "Advent 2". The winner will receive a special,
commemorative prize from The Strawberry Patch.
Thanks to all of you for the kind support and well-wishes
over the last year and a half!

Life is Good!
...you all help to make it so...

I naturally wake early as well, but on a night when I've set the alarm, I seem to wake up every hour or so, thinking that the alarm won't go off and I'll be late. I think I still like the old-fashioned clocks that I can just look at....if a little electronic voice talked to me in the middle of the night, I'd never be able to get back to sleep!

Congrats on 300 posts! Your blog is tops on my list of websites to visit. :-)

Love you!

I would continue commenting but its difficult to type with these guffaws eminating from my entire being, shaking the roof.

Someone forgot to "fall back" with their talking clock. Goodness my friend, goodness I can't stop laughing.

WOW, 300 posts, and you must have started blogging shortly before I did and I can't find that much to post about.I can certainly talk your ears off but am not very good expressing myself on the blog!
I do look forward to your post each day, actually it's the first one on my list.
I love the pictures you put on there and all your comments. Keep up the good work.
Maybe Santa can bring your SIL a new clock for Christmas, you know the old fashion kind!! Of course that won't help him to remember, will it????
See you at CCC , I think that is next week. I'll be there so you can show off your J's and G's LOL

Congrats to your daughter and son-in-law on their new home. They will love the area. I know I did.

My mother gave me a talking clock. Every hour it told you the time and temperature. It drove Shelby nuts so out the door it went!

300 posts! You are an inspiration!

Congratulations on your 300th post! Wow, I haven't even reached 100 yet (but will before Christmas...) That clock sounds neat, you'd think it would be able to tell itself to change the time...

How fun that you got to see the new house right away - congrats to DD and DSIL! My favorite clocks are those simple travel clocks - I have one in every room! Of course, I can tell time by the ferry horn coming and going and also my chime clock that DH brought back from Austria for me, but those little clocks come in handy! I don't wear a wrist watch so I even bring one to my quilt group so I leave when I am supposed to go get my son!

Cheers!

Congratulations on 300 posts! A talking clock sounds wonderful - you would think with the advanced feature of talking, it would also have the advanced feature of synchronizing the time.
