A Tale Of Dirty Dishes...

I remember a poem that hung above the kitchen sink in my childhood home. It was a simple rhyme with a powerful message, I don't recall the author's name but I do remember every word:
"Thank God for dirty dishes they have a tale to tell, while other may go hungry we're eating very well. With home and health and happiness we shouldn't want to fuss, for by that stack of evidence God's been very good to us!"

I hosted the Quilting Ministry ladies to a Tea here at our home yesterday. It was a wonderful day to laugh and eat and simply enjoy being together. There was a tall "stack of evidence" at the conclusion of the event. I knew it could wait. I had two quilt blocks to sew for class in the evening; clearly the dishes would still be there, waiting, when I was done. You know what? I sewed and they were!
Life is Good!
Skip on over to Fernleaf Lane for another "view" of yesterday's festivities!

Sounds like a lovely time--I'm sorry I missed it!! :> And I was afraid that post would end like it did--the dishes WERE still there waiting. LOL Hugs to Hannes, and my 'boys' send Holiday Greetings to them. They are hoping he gets toys and bones from Santa, and NOT brushes and such. ROFL

My Nana had that very same poem above the farm kitchen sink!

It looks like you had a fun gathering!

Cheers!

Oh, Mrs. G., you are so organized and efficient that even your stacks for dirty dishes look pretty!! :-)

I love the photo of the quilting ladies, with little Hannes joining the group, and a lovely, familiar angel watching over you all.

Much love!

I remember that poem so very well - it brings a smile to my face!! It looks like you all had a most wonderful time! Wouldn't it be nice if you could be like Samantha on "Bewitched", and wiggle your nose, and all would be right again? LOL!!
