It's A String Thing

I'm working from the front-side of Sundance on this one: "It's A String Thing". This String-X quilt, a pattern from Quiltville (thanks, Bonnie!), measures 68" X 82". I'm making progress. I put the pantographs away and decided to doodle my way around the top by way of free motion. It's going OK, I think I like it. I have marked wide cables on the borders, stay tuned, the learning experience continues and my confidence grows, albeit slowly. I still have much to learn, problem solving every step of the way. This one has the funniest hodge-podge of pieced fabrics on the back. I keep reminding myself that using up the stash is cleaning house at the same time!

Congratulations, your quilting is looking good! There must be such a high learning curve with a long-arm but fun at the same time. The String-X is my favorite of all the string blocks.

It looks good and I love pieced backings so I'm sure the hodge-podge on the back looks great too.

I love it! I'm glad you decided to doodle on this quilt...it really fits the whole "using the bits and pieces idea"!

OH I LOVE IT, this must mean that Sundance II is working and more doable then its earlier rival LOL! Very pretty colors, and the pieced backings are always a favorite for me--learned that idea from a quilting buddy named Laurie!
