Spring Shots

The Hummingbirds are back! My husband and I have always enjoyed sitting on the side porch in the evenings when the weather turns warmer and watching the variety of birds who visit the feeders. Last evening was no exception. I only hung out the nectar feeders on Friday, but it doesn't take the hummers long to find them! The Goldfinches, sporting their brighter plumage for Spring and Summer are plowing through the thistle feed, we can barely keep the feeders full. I saw a pair of Indigo Bunting earlier yesterday but wasn't able to catch a shot of them this time, stay tuned. Warm days, brilliant color and birdsong serenades, Spring is here in all it's glory; celebrate its return!

Life is Good!

29. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most).

Wow, your hummers are different from ours. We have only the ruby throated humming bird this far north. Yours is very beautiful! Do you have problems with the Baltimore Orieols (sorry for the poor spelling) at your HB feeders? My dad has that issue. They like the nectar and are so huge that they spill it all out of the HB feeders!

Such beautiful pictures of such beautiful birds. I tried to photograph a cardinal yesterday, but unfortunately didn't get a clear shot.

Wonderful photos! I love the goldfinches. At my old office years ago, they used to show up in the tree outside my office window to eat all the berries. Since my office was on the third floor, I was eye-level with the birds. They would sit on my window sill. It was magical.

I do miss seeing the Humming Birds at the house, but I know our neighbor is feeding them well. She has probably cleaned our feeder and put it back. She also keeps watch over our house, we sure are grateful for her and her son.Spring is such a beautiful time there. I miss it, but it will be ever more sweeter next year! J

I put out the hummingbird feeder the other day. Hope the hummers arrive here in MI soon. The Baltimore Orioles should arrive in 2 weeks. If the oranges and grape jelly are gone they will go for the nectar. We love all the Orioles though so don't mind.

If I could just get them to refrain from singing until the alarm clock goes off! I love to watch them too. I have a Tufted Titmouse pair that is nesting in my butterfly house this year.
