Unwinding

My husband and I spent last evening unwinding after a happy and hectic wedding weekend. One of our favorite ways to recharge is to relax at home while enjoying a glass of wine on the side porch; watching the birds and solving the world's problems. We were treated to an impromptu show: "Dinner Hour at the Home of the Bluebirds"! There are at least three Bluebird babies living in there, sometimes there would be that many open beaks clamoring for tasty little treats (worms? bugs?) at the door. Unfortunately we were unable to snap a photo of more than one at a time in the window. They're getting big and will be fledging soon; so it goes, the circle of life...

Now that the wedding is done, and there's a lull between big events, I'm having a giveaway to celebrate my 400th post milestone! Leave a comment on this post (make sure you have an e-mail contact) and you'll be entered into a drawing for a unique surprise. Let the fun begin!!

Life is Good!

I was going to comment on your post from yesterday, but forgot. I had to take a double take on the title, "One- for now"...my first thought was they are one (as in one flesh) for now, but maybe not for long?? LOL Then I realized you were saying one picture for now...DUH.
I love reading your blog.

Many times this weekend we called our little grandson "a baby bird" as he would open his mouth and search frantically for his nourishment. God's tiny creatures are so sweet to watch!

Belated congrats on your 400th post!

Happy for you & DH. Your last little bird has too left the nest.

We've been watching the birds building nests and have one really chubby hummingbird who is frequenting our baskets on the front porch...thinking this might be a momma soon.

Congrats on the wedding (they look so happy!) and your 400th post milestone.

My DH & I have an old, unpainted bird house that we keep meaning to paint but the sparrows keep beating us to it. We had a wonderful time the other night planting flowers in the front yard & watching the parents going to feed the babies (all the while keeping one eye on us!).

Enjoy the peace!

I loved your bluebirds. We have robins building a nest on a rafter on our porch. They are the sloppiest nest builders I have ever seen. But, we try not to disturb them. I love reading your blog.

Can family members be entered into the drawing???

I guess we should remember how quickly birds grow up and leave the nest . . . then we wouldn't feel so melancholy when it seems like ours have grown so fast *s*

Sitting on your side porch with a glass of wine sounds so wonderful and you get a free show from the bluebirds!

Great picture!

LOL - when I first read this one, it sounded so good that I went and snatched Hunny up for a glass of wine out back, forgetting to tell you - "Pick me, pick me!"
Your girls are lovely - what a blessed time in your life.

Thanks for the reminder! Enjoy your blog! Can feel your positive vives across the internet lines. 400 posts! What a milestone! Enjoy your weekend in Savannah. We love eating at Pearl's Seafood. You would need to ask for directions. It's away from the historic area. Tybee Island is also nice (or it was on the days we went there)

Take care,

My comment: Sweet!! It's no accident that the mythology of the bluebird goes back thousands of years and across many cultures to symbolize happiness, prosperity, good fortune, good health and hearth and home! Life is, indeed good, in the Strawberry Patch!!!!

Congratulation on your 400th post and on a beautiful wedding. I really like the idea of the 2 pictures on your wall.
The 2 bird houses at my place are empty too. But they were used and we could see some of the little ones a few time. Take care.
