Matthew 10:16

"Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves..." This is a test for me. The scripture is from Sunday's gospel lesson. I understand what it means, although I'm not all that fond of serpents I know that they are cautious and smart in avoiding danger and harm to themselves. This combined with the innocence of a dove seems incongruent at first thought, and then, impossibly wise upon further examination as it stands in relation to sin. Here's where the test comes in. I'm still sporting the "complaint free" bracelet on my arm as I assist in tackling a persistent problem at church that grows larger every day. I'm well-armed with this verse from Matthew. Wish me luck with the complaints!

Life is Good!
Indeed it is.

Sounds like you are struggling with something much like I did when I was on Vestry of my parish. Being a member of vestry was eye opening. I blithely assumed that we all had a similar vision and agenda. I pray that you find some measure of peace throughout.

When you witness the problems inside any church where members share the same beliefs, it's easy to understand how difficult world peace is to achieve! *s*

Doesn't it seem like problems at church wouldn't be occuring? But, that is such a significant situation to look at. I am so glad that I came into your blog.

I think that we forget that a church is really made up of human beings with real feelings. And that each person is filled with their own emotions.

That really gave me so much to think about. I don't even know what your situation is. Not even speculating, but it is really making me sit back and think about the verse that put forth there.

Thanks also for the wonderfully kind words that you gave to me. So encouraging... Kayce

No need for luck when we're at your side, in your pocket and on your shoulder.

(ps: I'm going to ride in your purse - look for me there. I noted goodies from prev. post.)

You have armed yourself with everything you need to be triumphant in this test, and you will be fine.

Thanks for sharing that verse - I am so amazed when I read verses on blogs and they seem to be written just for me. That complaint free bracelet is a wonderful idea. Not sure if I am brave enough to try it.
