"Good" Mail!

Years ago my husband used to call home at lunchtime and ask two questions:
1. "What's for dinner"?
2. "What did we get for mail"?
The first question was easy to answer, the second required a listing of what I'd retrieved from the mailbox: circulars, bills, etc. and then he'd always ask another, additional, question: "Oh, no good mail"? That follow-up question never failed to make me smile; as I never knew, precisely, what good mail might be. This morning when I opened my e-mail I learned what good mail is. My daughter-in-law sent me this photo from her cell phone. This baby is playing on a quilt that I made for her before she was born. She's the sweet daughter of friends of my son and daughter-in-law. This is GOOD mail; in fact, it's downright heartwarming!

Good Mail for sure! What a lovely share for us all. A great feeling. Thanks for bringing us into the moment of joy.

This is what we want to see - our quilts being loved.

I totally understand "good" mail . . .

I tuck a note in with each gifted baby quilt asking that the parents send me a photo with the little one in/on/with their quilt. Only a few have complied, but that has made those photos all the more precious.

That's GREAT mail! It's wonderful to know your quilt is actually being used and loved, isn't it?
BTW - is your DH related to mine? We have the exact same phone call everyday about 3 pm!!

What a fun picture. Better than seeing it hanging on the wall, huh?

My husband and I have a similar tease about 'good music'. Before a trip he loaded up the car with his CD's and when I thumbed through the selection said, "Oh... no good music?" He laughed and we've been tossing that back and forth ever since.
