Happy Independence Day!

So far, retirement still feels like vacation. I guess it takes time for all of this to sink in. My husband has never seemed so relaxed, at least that I can remember. Perhaps it's the leisurely breakfasts out on the patio that are to blame; our happy new ritual! Enjoy your holiday, wherever you are and however you're spending your day. At Chez Goodneedle my husband is painting the columns on the front porch and I have a date later on today with Sundance. Please notice that this quilt, "Patriotic Pizazz" is red, white off-white beige and blue; long may she wave!

Life is Good!

Ah, the weekend of the great painting ritual... we have our master bedroom torn apart. Larry is about to paint the ceiling and I'm starting on the trim.

Have fun with Sundance - great quilt!!

Just enjoy your new ritual, and savor the freedom. Hopefully, it will continue to feel like the beginning of vacation, before you start thinking about going back to work, and are just enjoying the feeling.

He would have the day off anyway, wouldn't he? I find that even when I am not working, I savor the weekends and holidays more. Happy 4th to you as well.

Occasionally we'll get a leisurely breakfast on the back porch on a Saturday morning. You've reminded me to schedule another one soon so that we can get a hint of retirement that someday will come.
