Super Soft Blankets

I made a couple blankets for Mason this week. They're double faced, cotton knit, and oh-so soft! My daughter and I visited a children's wear outlet store last week in the Capital City. It was a real outlet store, the kind of place where you enter through the back door and there are ladies lined up, sewing away, on the other side of a partition from where the clothes are displayed. Like a moth to a flame I was drawn to the back wall where flat folds of fabric (discontinued colors and patterns) were displayed, deeply discounted at $4 per yard! These two prints caught my eye. I brought them home to create a few receiving blankets, they're a perfect weight for summer. They made up just beautifully; I only wish you could feel how super-soft they are! Sweet dreams, baby!

Life is Good!

Mason is one lucky little boy!

I'm with nane ~ how did you apply the binding? The blankets are fabulous!

I usually make flannel ones, but never thought about knit. How did you bind them? I use my serger with wooly nylon in the loopers. Covers the edge beautifully.

OHHHH I how I wish my Mom could sew like you!!! It's so special to have baby things made my your Mama or grandmother. My mother got that from her mother....but I unfortunally didn't. I'll have to get onto my mother about taking a sewing class!!!

Congrats on the new blankets. They look so snug and warm!!!

Sounds like a really cool place to shop. They actually have a couple neat outlets in MN. The fabrics are usually seconds or overstock. But some good deals. Your little blankets look wonderful! Happy snuggling!

Those blankets are gorgeous - they look like the blankets they sell for much more $$ at Gymboree. Nice job, Granny!
