The Learning Curve

I'm hanging on, it might hurt if I let go right now! I'm working my way through EQ6. I have completed three lessons so far and have piled up many quilts in my sketch book, I'm getting comfy and familiar with the buttons and tools available. It's mind boggling, but fun. If that was all there was to learn I'd feel pretty good right now. But, no, there's more; it's not all comfy-cozy hiking on up the learning curve! What more, you might ask? Add on Photoshop Elements, a wonderful gift for my birthday from my husband. So, the gray matter's getting quite the workout, it seems that a paper "user manual" is missing, I really like manuals! There is a "help" button on the toolbar, but, alas, no book! I do know that there's a Photoshop for Dummies, out there. (I think the dumb thing for me would be not to invest in that!) I took a deep breath when I realized today that the summit of my learning curve isn't even within sight. In the meantime, I'll keep climbing... I received an I-Tunes giftcard from my daughter and son-in-law, anybody know how to use one of those? Uh-oh.

Life is Good!

Hang in there! I go through this whenever I buy a new phone, camera, whatever! What really drives me crazy is how a ten year old can program them in seconds...

LOL..you sound so much like me. I feel like I am always trying to catch up and by the time I reach that summit, the curve had turned into a new curve and I am back at the bottom. I still haven't figured out how to send a text message on my phone, much less take a picture.

LOL. You are having a lot of fun with it all, & it certainly keeps the brain cells ticking over!
I just love that Photo of Hannes peeping out of that quilt. I smile every time I see it!

My husband keeps telling me that I can read the instructions online. Well, no I can't. I too would much rather have the "book" in my hands. Old habits die hard.

That cartoon is just too funny! I understand that feeling only too well, dang it! You are straining your brain quite a bit these days, so it would seem. I have heard doing so keeps you young, so you go girl!!
I know how to use the I-Tunes - my son showed me! (Is that considered cheating?) LOL!

The digital scrapbookers have figured out how to use Elements quite well. Go to a book store and peruse the scrapbooking magazine section. There are several digital scrapbooking magazines and they always seem to give instructions using Photoshop Elements. As an added bonus there are color photos. HTH.

I'm still trying to learn math. Quilting is hard. My brain feels very stretchy and I can't imagine going thru what you're going thru but I can sure admire it!

I love that cartoon! I am a stubborn person ...or maybe a determined person and I can get lost in trying to figure out new technology. Hours pass.... nothing else gets done and my husband comes home and supper is not ready again...sigh. I wish they still published the manuals that go with computer programs. I find it hard to read it online. Keep up the hard work. Won't you feel great when you teach your kids something that they don't know!

I LOVE EQ6! I am good at what I need to know for most of what I do, but the manual and the little videos are well done. I think I need Photoshop too! I am not sure why.

LOL... I am the same way. My DH got me EQ5 a couple of years ago, and I'm still on Lesson 4. Then, he got me Photoshop E. earlier in the year, and I said the same thing..."what, no manual!". Forget the help button... that didn't help me either. lol
My birthday is in a couple of months... I hope he'll just get me a gift card. lol
