Friends... In Fabric And Flesh

I have made some connections, in both fabric and in the flesh; thanks to the wonderful world of blogging! While attending Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival in Hampton, VA last week I had the opportunity to meet Karen Dianne's "Civil War Tribute" quilt in the Olde Green Cupboard vendor booth. It wasn't quite the same as meeting her in person, but I definitely picked up the spirit of this sweet lady nonetheless. I asked her friends who were working in the booth for permission to snap a photo and they happily complied, as they love Karen Dianne too, and were glad to honor my request. Thanks; Cathy, Jill and Gloria! The next day I was able to meet up with Marcie, the reigning queen of the magical land of Patchalot! It's true that you can learn a lot about a person through their blog, connecting with Marcie was like re-connecting with an old friend, I had the feeling that we'd known each other for a long time and we were picking right up where we'd left off; she's a warm and wonderful lady. I also ran into quilting friends that I know from home and haven't seen since a year ago at Festival! Mid-Atlantic was all about connections and reunions for me; new friends and old, all coming together in the same place at the same time for the same reason. I am blessed.

Life is Good!

I took one look at the photo and yelped...'What's she doing with Marcie?'

Two wonderfully amazing ladies and Karen's fabulous quilt in the same place as oodles of other quilts! The heart lights in that place must have just shined at mega wattage!!!! I'm so happy you had this experience!

I like Michele's comment about heart lights. Makes me think of ET. It was such a joy to meet you. Now I feel truly connected! You got a much better pic of Karen's quilt than I did. It is such a beauty!
