From The Attic

It's me, Hannes, reporting to you live and on-the-spot from my soon-to-be new room. Dad's finishing a space for me in what used to be our attic. Now that the scary nail gun has been put away I go up and down the stairs with Dad all day long, and that's a good thing since I just happen to be the construction supervisor! Dad says that there will be a bathroom and a kitchenette in my new room, I'm happy to hear that because that means that Mom and Dad won't have to bother me by making trips up and down the stairs when I am peacefully resting in the evenings. There are really cool cubbies built into the side walls. Dad says they're for storage, he can think whatever he wants, I know that they are for me to play in. After the walls are finished they will come and install my super soft carpeting for rolling on, and my big recliner chairs for napping in. But, until all that happens I'm content with the big bag of treats that Dad has up in my new room. He gives me one whenever I politely ask. (Mom does the same thing when I'm in the studio... parents can be so easy to train!) The most difficult thing about my job is the number of trips up and down the stairs I make in a day. Dad keeps the saw in the basement and, being the supervisor, I need to make each and every trip up and down two flights with him (quality assurance is part of my job description, too). I'll report again soon, my workday is about to begin and I'm afraid of what could happen if Dad is left unsupervised; after all, he works like a human not like a... well, you know.

Life is Good!

I love the world from a dog's perspective. If we stopped every now and then and saw things their way, life would be a lot slower and simpler. Lucilu says hi from Kentucky.

I'm sure you'll love that room, Hannes, just as much as mom and dad! Sounds like a comfy place to be!

Hannes tell Dad it is shaping up nicely. Maybe Diesel should come over with one of those doggie back packs to help carry stuff up and down the stairs. You would stil be needed to supervise of course.

Hi Hannes! Ask Mom and Dad where the big bag with the Christmas tree is going to live after your room is finished. Perhaps they'll put the tree up and decorate it for you to have year-round! With presents of dog treats under it...yup, yup, presents. Wow. You're going to have a great space! Keep up the good work!

Oh Hannes, I'm glad to know you're doing your job well ~ supervising is hard work. Treats are a staple of any well managed jobsite along with approriate permits of course.

I'm certain with all this oversight work you're doing, up and down all these levels, you are looking quite svelte. You know what this means? It means we have a good, solid case for a "way over the top" amount of treats. I'm just sayin'.

That's it! You need to come over and see our room! I thought I was looking at photos of our construction up there nearly three years ago! He has his office and I my quilt studio.

Oh Hannes, you are so adorable! It looks like you are very close to puting up drywall, and the project will fly after that...you'll be lounging up there in no time!

Keep up the good Project Manager work...but remember to meet OSHA guidelines you really should be wearing a hard hat. You can borrow mine

Well, Hannes, they better hurry up and get that room finished before it gets to hot because they will need the air conditioning real soon. Looking good!

Hannes, What a great room, and you are doing such a fine jod of supervising. I know Mom appreciates you keeping Dad on his toes! Good to know they have all those snacks for you......
Maybe you should suggest an elevator so you don't have to run up and down the stairs all day!

Hannes, when your construction work is done, you may want to look into a career in news reporting. You have a bright future with all your talents!
