A Big Decision

We make hundreds of decisions every day, some are small and some are not. Our son, Kyle, and his wife of one year have made a big decision, a not-so-easy one. Kyle has taken a job in the hill country of Texas, (a great opportunity for him) our daughter in law has decided to stay here for one more school year (she's a kindergarten teacher) before she packs up and moves west to join him. They'll travel back and forth for the next twelve months as often as they are able; we understand their reasons, are proud of their decision, and support it, full well knowing it won't be easy. My father in law once told me that anything worthwhile wasn't easy, there's so much truth in that. Join me in prayer, if you will, for this precious couple as they endure a roller-coaster year of lonely days and happy reunions. Prayers for strength and support through these days, weeks and months of transition are deeply appreciated, let's wrap them up tightly in love through our prayers and good wishes and the time will fly by before they even know it!

Life is Good!

I snapped this photo on Saturday morning in the WalMart parking lot; there is the most amazing sculptured brick art wall there, of all places. What beauty there is, lying all around us, if we only just stop and take the time to look!

I'm a native Texan and the Hill Country area is a beautiful area! My husband and I just drove through some of that area on our way to Austin. It's like living in another world, yet you know that a big city is only about an hour or so away. Best wishes to them on their new adventure!

I will pray for them and all the ups and downs that are sure to come their way during the next year.

Life IS good and sometimes we just need to take a moment to appreciate all the beauty and the wonders that God has for us.

With prayers and hugs.

With the gentlest of love, most heart felt support and deepest, radiating prayer ~ I am here to lift them up. Together they will bond through this time and together we will hold them up for as George Eliot once said: "What do live for, if not to make life less difficult for each other?"

When my son was finishing up his degree at Purdue, his wife graduated earlier and got a teaching job offer close to their 'real' home towns and not close to Purdue. They made a similar choice as your son, but not nearly as many miles in between them. It was a struggle but they did it. They had a baby during that interval...that was the most difficult part.

When so many folks are struggling with finding and keeping jobs, I'm sure your son and his wife feel lucky to have what they do. Hopefully some day they'll look back at those 12 months with a smile:) Good luck to them (and you as I'm sure you'll miss your son!)

Hubby and I have spent lots of time apart. We feel that those times have drawn us even closer. Separation can be difficult, but the variety of ways to stay in-touch these days will make the time pass quickly for them *s*

Such a difficult decision to have to make, and to have the maturity to do it! Obviously they are not just living in the moment, but have the big picture clear in their minds. They're fortunate in her job and the way the calendar will favor them. I'm sure you are so proud.

Brad told me about this a while back and they've been in my prayers. Not an easy decision, but a year will fly by, their times together will be even more precious and special, and they are looking toward the future. And we know that Kyle's bride has the best in-laws who will be close by and ready to help.

My prayers for Kyle and his beautiful wife...time will be precious for each visit, but the prayers will lift them up during the time away from each other. The saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder" will truly be witnessed with them! I know you are there for them, in your heart, with your prayers, and as close as the telephone and email will allow! Thank you for allowing us to pray with you!

I can tell you that after being a military spouse for over 23 years and having been seperated more than I care to count makes each reunion back together wonderful! In fact, we had been apart so much that I tease that I was used to having the remote, the whole bed and ate what and when I wanted. Adjustments have to be made from both sides...it is doable. My DH and I have been married over 25 years now. I trust they will be just fine.

What an exciting and scary time for this young couple. My husband and I went through the same thing. Times could be tough but we knew God was on our side and He is on their side too.
Awesome art work at the Walmart.

Having spent a year living in a "commuter marriage" . . . they'll have their challenges but they'll also have time to grow as individuals and in their professions. There will be some side-stepping and fancy footwork as they adjust from being "me" to "we" and back again, but with cell phones and e-mail and text messages and all the modern technology available, it will be less "separate" that we were over 30 years ago (with two toddlers in tow).

Prayers for all ~ yes, indeedy!

Lord, please be with Kyle and Leigh Anna especially during their next adventure in life. We know that You are with us at all times and that you have plans for this new couple and will guide them and protect them. Thank you Lord for helping them step boldly into their decision depending always on You. In Jesus' name. Amen

I will definitely keep the kids in my thoughts and prayers. It will be a difficult time for them, but they have such strong support in you and Mr. G and, I'm sure, other family and friends, that they'll sail through this time easily. I wish them all the best!
That brick wall is beautiful!
