Welcome!

Welcome to my little corner of the world. This brick pathway leads to a side porch and directly intoThe Strawberry Patch. There are some interesting sights along the way lately; first, this Clematis, it is at it's height of glory right now. There's someone standing guard on the steps of the porch to greet you:
"Hello, I'm Diesel"! Diesel has come to live with us for a little while, just until our son and daughter-in-law become settled in Texas, then she'll return to life with them. In the meantime, she's camping out here, greeting one and all with her sweet grin and wagging tail. "C'mon in"!

Someone else is keeping an eye out for visitors, too. That's Mama Wren (look closely, you can see one wary, watchful eye). She's decided to bring her family into the world amongst the cover of a hanging Boston Fern right outside the studio window. I really didn't want her nesting in there and took three nests out before they contained eggs. Her will was stronger than mine, with speed and determination she managed to construct a nest and lay a clutch of four eggs when I had turned my attention away one afternoon. She won't be bothered by me any further now, happy nest-sitting, Mama!

Welcome to my little corner of the world. I'm glad you stopped by, there's plenty to see these days, even before you walk through the door!

Such a difference between where we live and our Clematis. Mine is done blooming already. I think I posted it in April? Looks inviting!

Lovely...I can imagine sitting on the porch and watching all of this rain and the mama bird. Peaceful bliss! How does Hannes like his new house guest? He's still top dog of course...

All this rain should really help the flowers!

What a serene 'corner of your world'. The dog looks like those old statues on porches, pretty he is.
TY for sharing.

Welcome Diesel! You're so cuteamous and snuggly and I for one hope to see more of you. Be good to Hannes because he's had a busy couple months overseeing the "addition" upstairs. He's had to keep one eye on Mom and one eye on Dad. ;)

Your clematis is gorgeous! Mine is just starting to grow. I have had birds nest in the planters that hang from the front porch every year. I don't know how to water the plant when they're in there, but if the plant dies, there goes their cover! I do my best, and everything seems to survive.
Diesel is too cute - the real question is, what does Hannes think of her?

Love your corner of the world. Wrens build nests in the craziest places. We had a pair trying to build one on my husbands workbench. Since the garage door was open they thought it might be a nice dry place.
