Adventures In Babysitting

We were held captive in the Capital City over the weekend; firmly and completely under the spell of our grandson! He is more and more fun each and every time we see him. Our daughter and son in law went out for the evening on Saturday, we couldn't shoo them out the door fast enough! Gramps, Nana and Mason (in his stroller) went for a long walk before bedtime, in fact Mason fell sound asleep before we got back to the house. I was able to squeeze in plenty of rocking and cuddle time, enough to last me, oh, a week or so! Gramps helped out a little yesterday morning before we returned home; he installed the oh-so-necessary cabinet latches on the kitchen cabinets, Mason was his self-appointed apprentice. To be honest, I don't know if there was any happier man on the earth than Gramps when Mason showed an distinct interest in the power tools! Oh, boy!

Life is Good!

Hi Debbie,
My son is a great fan of my father. He used to say" Poppa" with a total wave of devotion attached when he first learned to speak. My father is very good with his hands, loves tools and my son has that same affinity. One of my favorite photos is of the two of them when Kevin went to help poppa with the garage. He was about 16 at the time. Grandparents are great- my grandmother had a powerful influence in my life- I miss her every day of my life since she passed away nearly 6 years ago but I also rejoice at the wonderful loving relationship we had for 46 years of my life.
Mason is lucky to have you both- you are building memories and a wonderful relationship for now and for the future.
On another note- I wrote about some of my favorite blogs that I visit regularly and linked them on my newest post. Your blog is among them. If you would like to see the post go to

Warmest regards,
Anna

So funny, Jim installed all those child-proof latches on David's cupboards when we were there this spring. Grandads are very good at that kind of stuff, and very helpful little boys make the job much more interesting! ;-)

ADORABLE is the word that comes to my mind! Mason is such a cutie, and oh yes helping gramps is at the top of the list no matter how old they are, ask me I know LOL!! Thanks for sharing, and there it is, that famous *Mason* Tshirt we saw a few posts ago, it looks good on the little man! Have a wonderful day!

He's really growing up isn't he? It seems like they are babies for such a short time and before we know it - a little boy! (He's adorable - but you know that!)

Mason has the perfect Gramps for teaching him all about power tools! They'll be in the shop together before you know it.
