Sparkle? I Am, I Am...

I ran into Target yesterday to grab a roll of wrapping paper for a wedding gift. I found one, bought it and proceeded to peel off the cellophane outer wrap when I returned home only to be hit in the face with a generous shower of sparkling glitter! Arrggh. I thought the paper was printed with white roses only, (I didn't notice the glitter through the cellophane and the choices for wedding gift wrap were slim, it was either these roses or silver stick-figure brides in flowing wedding dresses) little did I know that I was committing to sparkles once they were unleashed... seriously, they're everywhere! There's a trail from the table where I wrapped the gift, down the hall to the guest bedroom (where the gift resides until we place it in the car for the wedding on Saturday) and every spot in the house in-between, even on the dog! I just finished ironing a few items and had to use my sticky tape roller to clean the ironing board off first, there were tiny, shiny glitter specks on the cover! Quiltkeemosabe gave me a cute little tin that sits on my desk here in the Studio. I didn't understand the prophetic meaning of the words until today. Oh, yeah...I'm sparkling like I mean it alright. What other choice do I have?

Life is Good!

I try to avoid that glittery stuff and this is the reason why. I find that many greeting cards have it too. What a mess it is.

Well, honey, you're just a character out of the old comic strip L'il Abner. She was a darling blonde girl named Sparkle Plenty! (Not that you're old enough to remember her.)

Thanks for the warning on the sparkly paper. I'll make sure to avoid it. You, on the other hand, will probably be finding sparkles all over your house for months to come!

It is avoided by me, I don't like the mess it creates even tho it is so pretty. Love the 'Sparkle Plenty' ... TTFN ~Marydon

I bought lotion the other day because I liked the way it smelled. Later I looked down and my legs were "shimmering", they had addes some type of sparkles to it too. Sparkle On!

Oh what a post! Why can't they stock classic, decent wrapping paper? Come on people?! And what nut job decided to take this stuff to market? I MEAN!

...and Hannes all sparkly. Bless his little puppy heart. As if he were dressed for the Dance of the Sugar Plum Faeries!

Giggling as I type - when we renewed our wedding vows a few years back, the jacket of my dress had that glitter issue. Months later, we were still noticing tiny sparkles in the grout between random tiles in the church's entry area (which made us smile as we remembered that special afternoon)....

Ah, just think of it as a new design element in your home - on your dog - in your car, LOL.

Funny....At least to read about. Maybe not so funny to truly experience. Messy!

Oh,no, that happened to me too. Looks like the same paper. I hadn't noticed the sparkles...just grabbed a roll. I had it all over me too, my face, arms and everywhere.
