Bali Dancing

At long last, the binding is finished on "Bali Dancing" and it's ready to be installed on the very bare wall in the hallway leading into our home theater (former attic space). The quilt measures 84" X 68.5" and will hang horizontally, exactly as shown. I carried the quilt outside this morning, onto the front porch, for a photo shoot. These blocks were constructed several years ago as an annual block-of-the-month class offered through my local quilt shop. The border setting is an original one, the result of playing with EQ6; I'm pleased with the way the border visually breaks the colors from the interior and frames the quilt as a whole.

Once outdoors, I just loved the way the colors of the batiks played against the abundant greens of our landscaping and made a bold, graphic, statement. Photo shoot complete; the backside of "Bali Dancing" and a detail of the quilting.

This will look great in that space, but it would look great anywhere. I didn't do the Batiks that year but should have.

Fantabulous! All the other adjectives I was going to use were taken. Really love the border design==congrats on your ingenuity. The quilt may need to be washed frequently for people will probably touch it every time they pass by...I know I would!
