Show And Tell...

Gregory's wallhanging is done (with his personalizations attached)

and installed in his room: I think he likes it!

I had leftover flannel from the backing, so made him up two small snuggle blankets to match.

I managed to get a little Christmas jumper sewn up for a shop sample at my LQS:

Well, actually, I made one for little Miss Lucy Ann too; while I was at it!

Now... from the "do as I say, not as I do" lessons to live by: check underneath your hoop when taking it on and off your embroidery machine. If you don't you might just stitch through a shoulder tie! Arrgggh! So, actually, I made THREE jumper fronts, but who's counting?
And, as long as we're on lessons... don't pack a bottle of Glue Baste-it in a box (sideways) with all of your appliqué pieces and leave it there for two weeks after you return home from a retreat because you forgot were too lazy to unpack all of your supplies; that is, unless you enjoy the challenge of cleaning up a fused-together, hard as a rock, mess! Yep, it's true. I thought the border was ruined, but after an overnight soak in warm water all the glue had softened and, luckily, it came right off. It lived up to it's water soluble claim. I like to think of myself as a field tester.
Whew!
Life is Good!

Oh, how frustrating to do things like that to your projects. Glad the applique piece could be saved. That Big Bird wall-hanging is almost as cute as the recipient!

Gregory's wallhanging is adorable, and so are those little Christmas jumpers! How frustrating to have the tie embroidered to the back... Your appliquè piece looks nice- great save!

Not only has Gregory been busy but you have too. You are amazing!

You have been one busy lady! I'm chuckling at the embroidery goof -- how many times have we all done something just as boneheaded and thought that we were the only person in the universe who could be that dense. If nothing else, quilting/sewing teaches you to roll with the punches. And to keep the cat away from the sewing machine.

That wall hanging is a treasure. SO colorful, and so well done! Can't wait to see pictures of Miss Lucy in her spiffy Christmas jumper.

All charming! Your visit to NS seems to have borne great fruit upon your return! I love how you quilted Big Bird & your solution for G's name worked great. I applaud you for persevering with the jumpers and not allowing yourself to be derailed... They are sweet! Thanks for your post! B

Gregory's wallhanging is perfect, and so glad the glue came out of the applique border....but I would have tried to cut out the shoulder strap and still salvage the jumper...cuz I am lazy that way! Miss LA will be ready to go see Santa now.

Oh my--and here I thought I was the only one who had sewing mishaps like this. I'm glad I'm in good company. What a darling jumper. Just love Big Bird. But seriously, do you think it was a wise idea to show that little bundle of energy that he could perch there?

Oh my on the embroidery incident. I think we've all done similar things (I can't count how many times I've cut something without checking first to make sure nothing was caught-and ruined fabric!)

I love Gregory's wall hanging! So cute for his Sesame Street themed room. :-) The jumper are adorable!! Oh gosh....Lucy Ann is going to look so festive. I laughed at your goofs (sorry!)....yup, those kind of things happen here too. Frustrating, but they make good stories. :-)

Looks like little Gregory is quite happy with the things you made him! Very cute Big Bird!!!

I love the jumpers. Sorry about the embroidery goof! Things like that happen to everyone at least once in a lifetime.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
