Tidal Bore, Advocate Harbour and Cape D'Or

A tidal BORE was a new experience for me. Here is Wikipedia's definition: A tidal bore (or simply bore in context, or also aegir, eagre, or eygre) is a tidalphenomenon in which the leading edge of the incoming tide forms a wave (or waves) of water that travel up a river or narrow bay against the direction of the river or bay's current.
When we arrived the river was draining out (toward you, the viewer) this was the lowest point:
In this next shot you will see the leading wave, the BORE, coming in:
Now, the same location shot as the first one, this time the river is filling in (away from you, the viewer): This happens quickly, too!
From Maitland we headed toward Advocate Harbour by way of Five Islands Lighthouse:
We rented a cottage overnight here in Advocate Harbour:
A peaceful and deserted rocky beach was the perfect place for a stroll, just steps from our door:
We drove a few miles to watch the sun set at Cape D'Or, a recommendation from the locals:
Cape D'or cliffs, the copper in the rock reflects the golden light (hence, the name) as the sun goes down:

A sunset to remember!
Life is Good!
