What A Weekend!

What a weekend! On Thursday of last week our youngest grandchild had his first birthday! Yes, it's true... Gregory turned one. In celebration of his new "big boy" status he went for his first haircut. For the record, I did choke up when I saw him with some of that gorgeous red hair cut off! He doesn't look like a baby anymore. Here they are, the men in my life marking a rite of passage at The Clemmons Barbershop. *sniff*

Quiltkeemosabe and I left for the mountains, and quilt retreat, early on Thursday afternoon. Here we are reminiscing and catching up. There was lots of sewing done too,I offer the photo below as proof.
These three tops were in various stages of togetherness, the borders and necessary piecing were completed and I am happy to report bringing three finished tops home.

Sunday was the big party for the little one. Mommy settled on a polka dot theme and did a superb job of carrying that out, there were DOTS everywhere!

The birthday family...

... and the littlest cake eater. He looks pleased,
life as a one-year-old is sweet.

...and very, very GOOD!

Such a precious little redhead, even minus some of the red now.
Love your scrappy tops. They all look great--what a good feeling that must be to have them to this stage.

Your quilt tops are wonderful! That was a productive retreat!

And that little red-headed peanut is so darned cute! And I love that you captured him 'before' the frosting is all over his face! That seems to be the only pic my MIL ever took of my hubby or our kids.....sheesh! lol

Wo! So much goodness in one post! I recognize one of those quilt tops from your blog header--it's one of my favorites. Looks like the birthday boy had a good day. What a precious little cutie.

How exciting one year old...cute photo of the barber shop trip. Quilt tops look great too, a quilt retreat sounds like a good way to spend a few days!

Yep bet you could just eat him up along with that cupcake. And your completed quilts are very impressive...because I know how much visiting you did ;)
