Mom vs. Nana

When I was Mom I chased behind my children with a can of furniture polish in one hand and a dust cloth in the other, removing fingermarks and handprints while they were still warm.

Now that I am Nana those fingermarks and handprints have become treasured souvenirs of happy times spent together.

With age comes a new wisdom...
and a lot less polish used!

Life is Good!

It is so refreshing to find someone else who understands the importance - after they leave it is always so quiet and then I find the little handprints on the glass doors. Always brings a smile to my face. Windex can wait for awhile. Judy C

So true...last winter my twin granddaughters were here and were held up on the window sill to watch the snow....their little finger prints stayed on that window right through to Summer!! I loved looking at then when the sun shone :)

I so agree. I have little handprints on my glass doors... hard to clean.... maybe tomorrow.

A few years ago, I had a little tiny handprint on the glass door of our slider. It was weeks before I had the heart to wash it off. It was such a lovely reminder of a little guy who was lifted up to see the birds in the backyard. :-)

Great words of wisdom! I never thought being a "Nana" would be as much fun as a "Mommy" but surprise, surprise..it is even more fun!
