Random Thoughts and Souvenir Slippers...

As I conclude the posts from our  Baltic adventure to Scandinavia and Russia (I know you're all breathing a sigh of relief!) I'll leave you with a few random thoughts through images that I found photo worthy. Having said that, the first photo is not mine, I grabbed it off the Internet as I never took a photo of my favorite fruit on the ship; I was too busy eating them, every chance I got! A European variety Honeydew Melon, it was sweet and incredibly delicious; it tasted to me like a cross between a honeydew and a pear. They are smooth skinned and round, and the rind is just as pictured here, a true lemon yellow.

View on our ship from the top deck looking down; this was in port, we didn't cruise through parking lots...

Adult bicycle with child's bike attached...

One of several distinctive manhole covers... in Aarhus, Denmark

Remember your baptism and keep it holy...

Twenty-four hour clock with the four gospels...

Berlin...

Table at The Hermitage, I love it; and no, I didn't touch it!...

Preschoolers in Finland wearing safety vests at play...

Helsinki...

Along the coastline in Helsinki...

There was ironing to do on "at sea" days... some habits are hard to break!

The last picture taken, but certainly not the least! This is how I left the ship.
Our bags needed to be out of our stateroom the night before departure...
let's put it this way: I'm an aggressive packer!
Thank you Princess, for coming to my rescue~
Life is Good!

This looked like the trip of a lifetime and I am sure that you and hubby had a wonderful, memorable time. I loved that boat in the last post. O and that baptismal font: I am sure you noticed the dragon/lizard/drake as feet? Was there some story about that?

I so enjoyed accompanying you and LOL at the slippers! I've been in the process of making a Blurb book of our trip. It is taking quite a bit of time but it is pleasurable time . . . .

That table has a patchwork top!

I've enjoyed following your cruise. We'll be taking our first cruise next January ... we'll be heading south to St. Thomas and St. Maarten.

I've loved your photo journal!! I'm actually disappointed it's over. I love the baptismal font. One of the most beautiful ones I've ever seen is in the Lutheran Cathedral in Reykjavik. It is made completely of thick glass with little bubbles through it so it looks like it is water itself. Amazing! Love the 24 hour clock, and why am I not surprised that you ironed on vacation? ;-) But my dear, remember not to pack your shoes for evening pick up. Hahaha! That's actually pretty funny. :-) Glad you didn't have to go barefoot! Now I'm looking forward to your next vacation. :-)

I also loved your photo journal. Lots of pictures and information about a part of the world with which I am not familiar.I needed to get the Atlas out to find out how all the countries connected up! I would love to do a similar cruise one day. Which company did you go with? I am from Australia.I often see commercilas for cruises with a company called Scenic Cruises.Something to save up for.(maybe for after a visit to the US to see some quilt shops, old quilts and attend one of Bonnie's workshops....Not sure what my husband would do in the meantime!!:))

I don't see a think wrong with wearing slippers off the ship. You're feet had to be dog tired after all your adventures!

Thank you so much for sharing!

Have thoroughly enjoyed your travel journey. I particularly liked the "observations" you would share at the end of each day ... the slippers were perfect ... that is exactly something I would do!

wonderful "details" of your trip. recording your observations was such a treat. I frequently have to remind myself to notice the little differences.
