In an instant of momentary insanity yesterday I deactivated my Facebook account... again. I had just read an article about time management and the author revealed some fascinating strategies including deactivating Facebook. It sounded simple enough, it looked to me as though I could jump back in at any time and even receive messages from Facebook friends during that time. Well, it doesn't work that way. My good friend, the one who always has my back and understands me when I make stupid impetuous decisions, pointed out the obvious: "Facebook doesn't waste time, people do."  Thanks, Quiltkeemosabe, you're so smart! I also hadn't given a thought to not being able to use my handy, dandy instant reference tool: Pinterest; without a Facebook account. Oh, yeah... how can I pin things to refer to without my Pinterest boards? As of last evening I had reviewed the error of my ways and reactivated without so much as a hiccup. Speaking of pinning: Gregory spent a few days here earlier this week; I have Picture Play squares pinned to the design wall in the Studio and just look what my little helper did (above), he went straight to my magnetic pin-keeper and, withdrawing one pin at a time, carefully carried them to the wall and placed them (blue pin heads) into the bumblebee square. I was amazed that, at 21 mos. of age, he had the fine motor skills, dexterity, and understanding to accomplish that! He's got a bright future as either a quilt designer or a Voodoo Doctor!

Where has the summer gone? It's nap blanket time for the Pre-Kindergarten students all over again. I am so proud of my Bee for helping to supply three classrooms with nap blankets again this year! That's forty five children who will know the love, warmth and comfort of my kind and generous quilting friends.

I can't thank them enough!
Life is Good!

I'm not on Facebook or Pinterest, but my son, who is on both, said he got his Pinterest account without using his Facebook or Twitter accounts. I need to ask him how, but he is out of cell phone range right now. : )

Quiltkeemosabee is a smart lady. Just leave it to her to point us the error of our ways.

Are you sure you didn't delete it? I deactivated mine not long ago for a week or so, and decided I missed my relatives who are on it. I did receive notices on my iPhone. All I had to do is put in my user name and password and it was back, just like it had never been gone.

Good Luck ...

Of course he can use pins---anyone that can wield a screwdriver like he can, can certainly handle pins!
Glad you have reactivated. What would we do without Pinterest???? I'll try to always be there to talk you back sanity!

You can use pinterest without going thru Facebook. I do because I refused to let Big Brother Facebook run my life. But, I'm not sure how you can undo the FB link....

That Quiltkeemosabee is a smart lady! :-) I'd be sad if you were not on FB. I feel like it's a big way to keep in touch with each other and see what's going on in each other's lives. I will agree, though....sometimes I need self-restraint too. It can use up a lot of time. Glad you came back!

Let's talk about spending time on Pinterest! Yikes! I adore it and hate it. I doubt that I need to explain. Your little voodoo dr is right on! Love that!

I love that bee fabric. :) I deactivated Facebook, then reactivated it a year later and only for family and CLOSE friends. It works much better for me that way! blessings, marlene

I have both a Facebook account and a Pinterest account, but they are not linked together. I have managed to stop playing games and therefore not waste time on Facebook, but I can't stop pinning all those gorgeous quilts to my board!
