What's Taking Up Space?

What's taking up space on your design wall and your cutting table?

I can't remember when I began this series of house blocks, but it's been a long, long time ago. Why, when I have two thirds of them done, do they languish, undone, in a box in the closet? You don't need to answer, the question is rhetorical... and universal, I dare add.  I still LOVE the pattern and, subscribing to the "out of sight, out of mind" philosophy have decided to bring them, front and center, into the light of day! Ask me about these in the future... hold me accountable; I can take it! I have an attraction to blocks-of-the-month, much to my own detriment.  The bottom two pieced blocks on the design wall this morning were my first run-throughs (pun* intended) with the Accuquilt die cutter, I believe they both have a date in the Orphan Block box. What's up on your  wall this month? Here it seems to be nothing but an endless parade of UFO boxes: pull one out and one there goes another back in!

In the meantime, my cutting table is piled high with these:

Hundreds of machine embroidered signature/album blocks for a Centennial Quilt project destined for a local church. Serendipity: realizing that I have the exact right size die for mass-cutting these triangles!
Thanks, Santa! What's taking up space on your cutting table these days?

Life is Good!

Since I have sworn that I am finishing UFOs this year I took out the oldest one to finish this month. A quilt that I started collecting fabric for more than 10 years ago. Hubby's quilt. He will be so happy that I'm finally working on it! :D That is what is taking up space on my work table, cutting table, ironing board and basically all the space I have to lay stuff out on! LOL!

What a wonderful collection of house blocks, Mrs. G. Won't that be fun to get that neighborhood organized? : )
My design wall currently hosts the final effort to border my Barrister's SAL quilt made from thrift store shirts. The cutting table contains the remnants of the last shirt that was cut apart for the outer border. It will be nice to see something new up there soon.

With you BOMs. With me...blog hops. I have all my UFOs organized and waiting. If I could have a new year's resolution this late in the game it surely should be to quit signing up for blog hops and get some UFOs done instead! blessings, marlene

Oh my goodness! I love those Bible verse blocks. Did you applique those?

No less than 4 WIPs on the design walls and, as of last night, NOTHING on the cutting table (I put away, sorted, and organized the piles - they were keeping me from being able to breathe).

My quilting is just as unsettled as the rest of my life right now. I can't seem to settle on any single project and find myself flitting between 6 different long-term projects.....and no, we still haven't run across the hardware to put my "real" tale back together so it's still the tiny, folding table I'm sewing on......

I have the complete set of those bible/house blocks as well but at least you have MADE some of them ... mine still languish in the pattern pile. Only thing piling up on my cutting table is piles of stuff that I continue to try and sort through as the room settling-in/reorganization continues. I think I need to just take a break, set up a machine someplace and do some simple stitching ... that might be just the kick in the pants I need to get 'er done! Linda

I have only every gotten one BOM kit and am working on the wool applique blocks, but they have been waiting for three years to be completed! I've set a goal of the end of March to have a complete top. Otherwise, there are a number of projects awaiting their turn, some new, some old:)
