Full Steam Ahead!

At the beginning of December Hannes was diagnosed with a prolapsed disc in his neck; physical activity was curtailed, replaced by daily pain and ant-inflammatory medication.  He was one sad puppy-dog, as were we. That was then, and this is now! Slowly, over the past few weeks, he has been weaned off all medication, his activity level has returned as well as his customary spunk. We began our ritual morning walks in the neighborhood once again, gradually adding in a little more distance every day. He's chomping at the bit for more!
His collar has been replaced by a soft body harness, the leash
clips to a ring the middle of his back as opposed to his neck.

Here's more evidence that he's feeling better... almost every toy has
been removed from his basket in an attempt to initiate playtime!

"C'mon, Mom... Please... What?...You're tired from walking?
Hey, I thought we were just getting started!!"
Life is Good!

Yeah for Hannes. Getting over back problems does take time. Glad to see his ears flapping in the wind again!!

Oh Mrs. G. you are so right --- I DO love this post---I'm thrilled to see that little darling feeling so much better. Hugs to that little heartbeat at your feet, and barks from the Shipley Two. :) BTW, where did you get his harness? I keep trying to decide on one for Bayley but my 'little' pup is NOT little.

Very happy indeed - for each of you! (and I think the soft body harness is a MOST excellent idea - for ALL dogs . . . I've always wondered about collars pulling on their necks!)

Stern says "Yea, Hannes! Tell your mom that my mom found a great doggie toy store online called RuffDawg. I love their toys and we can always use more toys, can't we?"

Hannes looks right back to his perky little self. Good medicine and a loving family works wonders! :-)

This post reminded me that I had been thinking about looking into a soft harness for our two doxies. When they were small I tried harnesses but they each tore them off and chewed them up so a chain was the only way to leash them. But now that they are older and "a little" more sedate, maybe it is time to try again. Thanks.

Hannes is looking GOOD and happy! Nothing warms my heart more than to see a puppy happy and he looks ecstatic! Our rescue (Sadie Anne) should probably be on one of those soft harnesses rather than a collar ... I will have to check into them. GREAT POST ... FABULOUS HAPPY PICTURES! Linda
