Borders Galore!

Last Thursday our "Head For The Border" challenge group met to reveal their latest border additions. This last round saw the use of "square in a square" as the design element and the color purple. The results of each and every quilt are equally amazing and inspiring! For our next round we are each challenged  to add a "border made of pieced blocks" and the color orange, based on a random selection.
Back to the drawing board! I came home from the meeting and immediately set to work in EQ7. The above plan will be my guide. I have decided to remove the last four corners blocks and replace them with four 'clover' blocks, as shown, for continuity of the center. My next border will be the black background blocks. We will have one more round after this one. "Destination: Unknown" is, at long last, offering me a hint of direction. I can't remember enjoying any journey more than I have this one; every step has been fun and exciting, watching this quilt develop has been a pure joy!

I LOVE your quilt and imagine that it has been a lot of fun to make. Thank you for sharing the group photo. It's amazing how different each quilter's piece looks with their own fabric and interpretation. What a great project!

Fascinating how widely diverse the quilts look, while based on the same "challenge" elements.
I love what you have concocted. At first I was sad that you were removing the corner blocks, but I see the wisdom.
I also had to look twice for the orange. Couldn't believe it wasn't already in there somewhere. : )

Wise decision to bring a bit of continuity that way. I like the addition of the black background in the next border because that also brings in continuity. This is such a fun challenge!

They're all so different. Did everyone have the same color and design element to work with each week?

This is a great class to develop designing skills. Everyone in the group seems to have they're thinking caps on. The quilts are all wonderful.

I love your Head for the Border game! How fun to see how everyone's quilts have grown and how they are all different! I wonder if I can get some people in my quilt group interested....

Your quilt looks great, and isn't EQ7 wonderful to be able to plan it out and "see" how it will look. Our group is starting next Monday, do you have any words of wisdom for me, any problems you have had?

Amazing! It's interesting to see just how each person interpreted the "rules" for each round. What fun.
