Mutual Love

This is Linus, he belongs to my dear mother-in-law (or vice versa!) and is living with us temporarily while Mom is in the rehabilitation facility. Linus is part Chihuahua and part Rat Terrier, he is a nervous, skittish dog; but sweet. We took Linus to visit Mom yesterday; he snuggled right down beside her when Mr. Goodneedle placed him on her bed and completely relaxed, the first time I have seen him do that in weeks. Mom seemed calm and restful too, his visit was powerful therapy for her as she works to gain strength and recover, their mutual love for one another is precious. Thank you for your continued prayers on her behalf, God hears them and knows her needs.

Life is Good!

On this, the third day of November, I am thankful for elder care facilities
that understand the importance of, and encourage, patient-pet visitation.

Oh, what a precious sight. Companions reunited, and it calms them both.

Our four legged babies bring such joy to our lives

Of all the dementia-driven questions my mother used to ask (over and over and over) was "where's my dog?" (the dog was living with my sister but visits were discouraged as it actually increased agitation and confusion when the dog went home again)

SO very glad Linus can visit and spend time with your MIL.

Dear One, For those of us dog-lovers, I can so understand how calming it would be to have our mil's dog visit her. I'm so glad you were allowed to bring her fur-baby to her for a visit; I'm sure that it helped reassure him too.
Sending hugs and prayers your way.

How wonderful that you will take Linus in while your MIL is in rehab! So many would not do that. Our church class serves dinner at Ronald McDonald house once a month and it's usually on the night their therapy dogs come in. They can truly work wonders with the kids.

They could both sense their need for each other. That is fabulous.
