Unwinding

My husband and I spent last evening unwinding after a happy and hectic wedding weekend. One of our favorite ways to recharge is to relax at home while enjoying a glass of wine on the side porch; watching the birds and solving the world's problems. We were treated to an impromptu show: "Dinner Hour at the Home of the Bluebirds"! There are at least three Bluebird babies living in there, sometimes there would be that many open beaks clamoring for tasty little treats (worms? bugs?) at the door. Unfortunately we were unable to snap a photo of more than one at a time in the window. They're getting big and will be fledging soon; so it goes, the circle of life...

Now that the wedding is done, and there's a lull between big events, I'm having a giveaway to celebrate my 400th post milestone! Leave a comment on this post (make sure you have an e-mail contact) and you'll be entered into a drawing for a unique surprise. Let the fun begin!!

Life is Good!

  2. I was going to comment on your post from yesterday, but forgot. I had to take a double take on the title, "One- for now"...my first thought was they are one (as in one flesh) for now, but maybe not for long?? LOL Then I realized you were saying one picture for now...DUH.
    I love reading your blog.

  3. Many times this weekend we called our little grandson "a baby bird" as he would open his mouth and search frantically for his nourishment. God's tiny creatures are so sweet to watch!

Belated congrats on your 400th post!

  6. We've been watching the birds building nests and have one really chubby hummingbird who is frequenting our baskets on the front porch...thinking this might be a momma soon.

Congrats on the wedding (they look so happy!) and your 400th post milestone.

  7. My DH & I have an old, unpainted bird house that we keep meaning to paint but the sparrows keep beating us to it. We had a wonderful time the other night planting flowers in the front yard & watching the parents going to feed the babies (all the while keeping one eye on us!).

    Enjoy the peace!

  16. I guess we should remember how quickly birds grow up and leave the nest . . . then we wouldn't feel so melancholy when it seems like ours have grown so fast *s*
