I love the
extra large, heavyweight, hangers sold in three packs from
Target. Because of the added width and superior strength they are absolutely perfect for holding a folded, full-sized quilt top
and it's
backing while waiting their turn to be quilted. In my haste a few weeks ago I accidentally picked up a pack of heavyweight hangers that were the wrong size for this quilt holding purpose. These are still strong and substantial, but aren't wide enough; they now reside in our hall closet for heavy winter coats. This photograph shows the two for comparison. Yes, I have my hang ups for sure... and now, in two sizes!
You're so organized! (I wish that would rub off on me!!)
ReplyDeleteLove your batik BOM :)
That sounds like an excellent way to store the tops. I'll be on the look out for the XL hangers.
ReplyDeleteI love the regular old plastic hangers like clothes come on at the department store for my closet but my husband hates those. In his closet I use those like you showed (the smaller size). But that's only because I haven't seen the bigger ones! I'm definitely going to have to make a trip to Target to check those out. :) blessings, marlene
ReplyDeletePat would be proud
ReplyDeleteI like Target's plastic hangers with the skirt/pants alligator clip things -- they are perfect for holding sets of completed blocks for my Civil War Tribute BOM quilt. Actually, there's a LOT at Target (or WalMart) that I like for quilting applications.
ReplyDeleteLife's a moving Target. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, those look just right for tops. Wish I didn't have to hang any up, but tops don't quilt themselves....
ReplyDeleteIf only I had a closet!
