I Have A Book For You...

...this book could have your name on it, if you're the lucky winner!  I have a brand-new, pre-release, copy of Jennifer Chiaverini's newest Elm Creek Quilts novel: Sonoma Rose to give away. In this, her nineteenth novel, Chaiverini returns with a Prohibition-era novel about one woman's courageous journey to save her family and herself. If you're like me and you enjoy relaxing with a a good book (under a quilt, of course!) you'll love this one. Simply leave a comment revealing your favorite Elm Creek Quilts novel; I will draw a winning name on Friday. (Be sure that you have a valid e-mail account attached to your name so that I can contact you.) I love the Elm Creek series because of the rich character development, opening a new book for me is like reconnecting with good, old friends for a cherished visit. Sonoma Rose will appear in bookstores everywhere on February 21, be one of the first to own it by commenting here; good luck! You can't win if you don't enter, tell your friends too!
This giveaway has officially ended, thanks for participating!

  2. I have read all of Jennifer's Elm Creek books but haven't bought the new one, yet. My favorite one is Runaway Quilt. She does a wonderful job of weaving history into her quilt-themed books.
I sure hope I'm lucky in your giveaway ;-)

  3. I have only read one of her books so far and that was Circle of Quilters.
I enjoyed the book and would like to explore her other books as well.

  4. Would love to have the book! I have only read a couple of her books. Edward McKay used to be my main source of books, never found any of Jennifer's books there. I think I liked The Wedding Quilt best.

  5. I love Jennifer Chaiverini!! My favorite so far (and I've loved them all) is The Runaway Quilt. It has inspired me to make an Underground Railroad quilt that I started last month. I am still working on reading the Elm Creek series and have a few more to bring me up to date!

  6. Put my name in the hat! I've read many of Jennifer's books and liked them all, but the first one was my favorite as it set the scene for the stories in the series. I'd sure love to win your copy of her new book.

  7. Oh I just love Jennifer's books! It is so hard to pick a favorite.... I would have to say I enjoyed her first book the most as it introduced all the characters and made me fall in love with all of them. Thanks for giving us the chance to win the newest one!!!

  9. Oh my, I didn't know that she has another book coming out. I've read all in the series (and had to wait a long time for the last one ... there was quite a waiting list at the library). I would LOVE to be able to get this one without a long, long wait. ;-)

I don't know that I have a favorite ... although as a one-time history major in college ("specializing" in Civil War history), I enjoyed the Runaway Slave an awful lot.

    Thanks!!

  10. I met Jennifer at a book signing last November. Prior to that I had only read one of her books. Now I have read the first three and so far the first has been my favorite of the three. I have three more of them waiting to be read. I'd love to add another to the queue. She did show us Sonoma Rose at the book signing and talk a little about it. Thanks for this opportunity, Mrs. G.

  16. How did you manage to get a pre-release? I am jealous. But then, maybe my luck will change & I can win this book. Trying to pick a favorite of her books is like trying to pick your favorite chocolate from the box. The book in my hands is the current fav just like the chocolate in my mouth is the best. Each to be savored in their own way.

  18. The first book, The Quilter's Apprentice, started it all for me, and the magical journey with the Elm Creek quilters. I love the developing stories and the ability Jennifer has intermingling all the story lines over the centuries. The richness and enduring quality of the characteers always leaves me waiting for the next book - the next adventure. Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity. Judy C sure hopes she wins this one.

  25. My mother in law got me started with Jennifer's books and she is not a quilter, just loves to read. I have read them all except the last few. I loved the Aloha quilt and the Runaway quilt. I had quite a few of the books and passed them around with my quilting friends for them to read. I enjoyed all of them. Thanks for offering the drawing. Diane

  32. How can you pick one.My favorite would have to be the first one. I loved the beginning and how they made Elm Creek Quilts a reality. I would love to go on a retreat there.

  33. From the first novel, I was hooked! I hope that my version of the Elm Creek Quilt Retreats will help to spread the love of quilting while enjoying the beauty of the Alps. Not Southern but just as pretty. Wouldn't it be something to be reading the latest in the ECQ in the Peaks? :-)
