Also, if you don't plan to add any more brown, blue, purple or orange into the quilt, this keeps the amount you do add to a minimum. I love the change...I'm torn between #2 and #3. I love the change in scale in #2 but also love how the continuation of the black chain draws your eyes to the corners of the quilt. I lean more to #2 though knowing there are more border challenges to come and the change of scale will help define the quilt. I love the second option and the first is calmer to me, but the black and white is all I see until I stop and look harder.
