Drumstick, Anyone?

~Click arrow to play!~We had some very interesting visitors this morning; a whole herd of turkey, the jumping variety! Extremely entertaining to watch; (Hannes didn't agree with that assessment) they were, apparently, interested in the flower seed-pods from the Dogwood tree out at the end of our driveway. Better get a move on, my large feathered friends, Thanksgiving is only a little over eleven weeks away! Gobble ~ gobble!!

Life is Good!

We saw two turkeys on our road this past Sunday. I wonder if they were the same kind. I had not ever seen turkeys jump before. It seemed like they stopped a minute when they heard Hannes bark.

That is so funny. Turkeys must be on the move lately. We have a major road construction going on near my house. Across one of the major intersection are woods on one side and a a Burger King kittycorner to it. This one wild turkey crosses that intersection every afternoon during the height of rush hour (such as we have in my town) to go to Burger King to get a burger they throw out for it. It even made the paper one day.So funny, I tried to get a picture of it one day when I wasa one of the many stopped in traffic while it crossed the road. The construction workers actually stop traffic so that turkey can cross the road. LOL. I think they are fattening it up for November

You just never know what you're going to find in your driveway, huh? Deer, cows, jumping turkeys, wacky quilters. Never a dull moment at the Strawberry Patch!

Ungainly lookin' things when they jump, aren't they? They could use some hints from NBA players.
