What's Under Your "M" Key?

Typing on my laptop was becoming a challenge, my "M" key wasn't responding. I spent a lot of time going back and hitting it again; over and over, with increased pressure until an "M" finally appeared. It was a gradual progression from an intermittent annoyance to a full-fledged pain in the neck over the period of a few weeks. Grrr! I mentioned this to my husband; I wasn't sure what to do, I didn't know if we needed to take the computer in for a repair or what the solution could be. He looked up a DIY repair site on the Internet and found some video help. The next thing I knew he had the keyboard apart, a small attachment on my vacuum, and was cleaning underneath the key buttons. He reported that there was a fair amount of dust and debris under there, but that the "m" key was, by far, the dirtiest! In a jiffy it was all back together and working like brand new again, it was that easy! Who knew? Isn't this the way it is with our lives too? Isn't it usually something very simple that gets in our way and slows us down, something that is insignificant but becomes monumental? A task that needs completing, a hurt that needs attention or forgiveness? What's under your "M" key that's slowing you down these days? It's amazing how quick and easy the fix can sometimes be!

Actually, on my keyboard it's the "i" key that is giving me trouble. Actually, maybe in life it is still the "I" key that is giving me trouble........

were the keys easy to reinstall? Diesel knocked a few off of my lap top a few years ago, and it literally took days of watching youtube videos to put the keys back on, as well as Kyle and Rob working on it. frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!

It is often the little things that we don't take time or if we don't know how to do something that begin to add up to big annoyances.
I know it sometimes is the small thing tip me into grouchiness while I can cope with the big things. I should clean my "m" key more often.

My "P" key is stuck ... as in procrastination. I absolutely KNOW that if I just follow through on my resolution to "get 'er done" that I will feel better, things will work better and my life will be calmer yet I continue to procrastinate ... may need to give a call out to the "Repairman" upstairs....

It is the "9" button on my phone that is sticky. Wonder what meaning I can find there.
Nice analogy--we sometimes put off resolving something, so sure it is going to be messy, only to find out a quick fix would have simplified our lives long ago.

The other day, I stepped on my bathroom scale and discovered I'd lost 23 pounds overnight! Then I found a bottle cap under the scale. Bummer.

Excellent analogy, Deb. I think exhaustion is under my "M" key right now. Nothing a few days off couldn't fix, though.

no problems with my keyboard but I am always amazed at how something as small as lint can cause a ruckus with my sewing machine.

I take my keyboard apart quite often. A lot of crumbs and sticky build up in there, because I eat at my computer a lot! Years ago at work, I had a rubbery clear cover that went over the keyboard to keep things out of it, but I've never thought to get one for home. Maybe I should, before I spill more coffee on the dang thing! lol

Compressed air is a wonderful thing. I have a can at work and at home. I periodically shoot my keyboard. It is amazing what gets blown out of there. Kind of like a cleansing breath of fresh air.

Stopping and taking time to deal with whatever "it" is seems to be the hardest step. Not sure why . . . but it appears to be a universal issue.

Hugs on a great post!
