Mamas and Little Ones...

... inside and outside the studio.  Yesterday was a happening place at Chez Goodneedle!  My sweet daughter in law brought the two youngest grandchildren to play while she loaded up Snowbird with a baby quilt for a friend and quilted the afternoon away.
Gregory and Lynnleigh happily busied themselves on the floor, sorting through the basket of toys that Nana keeps here for them while their Mama quilted and even got the binding on her lovely gift. But, as it so happened, they weren't the only family who stopped by for a visit!
Up until yesterday I thought that the squirrels were the biggest problem I had at the bird feeders;
oh, was I ever wrong!

Life is Good!

We have those same kinds of visitors . . . and they DO love birdseed.

The first two photos--a welcome sight. The second photo--not so much.
They love to steal the corn from local gardens at night. One year DH heard them rustling out in the corn through our open window. He ran outside whooping and hollering and he actually treed a coon. We got headlamps and laundry baskets and finished picking the corn in the dark of night while the coon sat in the tree and watched. : )

That's a nice big baby quilt that should be well loved by the recipient! What fun to share sweet treats with the grands.

We have possums more than raccoons, but due to our hunting housecat, we do not put out any bird feeders!

Wow! Raccoons! I don't know if that is good news or bad news. I'd sure like to SEE a few raccoons but I hear that can be pretty destructive. Hope they stay out at the bird feeder.
