Twenty three years ago a little red-headed boy rang the doorbell and hung a May Basket on the knob.He had made the basket from a paper doily and attached a pipe-cleaner for the handle, he filled it with fistfuls of clover-- pulled up, with roots attached, from the yard.
Has there been any lovelier basket than this,
bestowed on the first day of May?
I don't think it's possible...
Life is Good!
Did you catch this mischievous prankster?
ReplyDeleteI know where he lives.
ReplyDeleteOh how I wish we still did things like that . . . maybe I will do it anyway *s*
ReplyDeleteI remember this sweet little red-headed boy! He grew up to be quite a nice young man. :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your daughter probably did something equally as cute!
ReplyDeleteHow sweet! Memories are the heartbeat of life...
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous! Children bring joy forever, every moment of their lives...if they only knew!
ReplyDeletei bet your daughter put kylie up to this, cause we all know he wasn't sweet enough to do such a thing on his own being that he was such a mischievous prankster and all! :P

ReplyDeleteThat is one adorable picture! Mayday doesn't seem to hold the same sweet pleasures today. I love your story about the little Lilies of the Valley also. Such an old fashioned little flower. Have a wonderful time on your retreat!
