Super Soft Blankets

I made a couple blankets for Mason this week. They're double faced, cotton knit, and oh-so soft! My daughter and I visited a children's wear outlet store last week in the Capital City. It was a real outlet store, the kind of place where you enter through the back door and there are ladies lined up, sewing away, on the other side of a partition from where the clothes are displayed. Like a moth to a flame I was drawn to the back wall where flat folds of fabric (discontinued colors and patterns) were displayed, deeply discounted at $4 per yard! These two prints caught my eye. I brought them home to create a few receiving blankets, they're a perfect weight for summer. They made up just beautifully; I only wish you could feel how super-soft they are! Sweet dreams, baby!

Life is Good!

  7. I usually make flannel ones, but never thought about knit. How did you bind them? I use my serger with wooly nylon in the loopers. Covers the edge beautifully.

  16. Sounds like a really cool place to shop. They actually have a couple neat outlets in MN. The fabrics are usually seconds or overstock. But some good deals. Your little blankets look wonderful! Happy snuggling!
