Summer sessions have begun at The Strawberry Patch and I'll tell you what... these ladies are
industrious workers! I have nicknamed this group the Save-A-Scrap Quilter's Society. Working with accumulated fabric inherited from their mother and grandmother (the same dear lady) these students are serious about completing their first quilts in time for our local county fair this fall! Lady L. (left) is working on a half-square triangle creation of bright colors that she can snuggle under and take to college next year; while The B & B Sisters (below) are working from a Moda Bakeshop pattern,
9-Patchtastic, to create their own memory quilts. When the first 9-patches rolled out from under their presser feet, completed, the enthusiasm in this room was positively palpable; I don't know who was having more fun either, them or me! Their is a fourth student also, she will be hand quilting a beautiful wallhanging. Unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict by yours truly, her quilt sandwich didn't get basted in time for her to put in those first hand stitches last evening, but she'll catch up; she was treated to a piecing lesson on the aforementioned HST's and 9-patches instead. Summer school is up and running, a great time was had by all!
