Wintry Mix?

These two words together: "Wintry Mix" strike fear and dread in the hearts of the less than courageous when it comes to driving, and weighs even heavier on the minds of the decision-makers. Thursday mornings are Quilt Ministry mornings at church, we have chosen to adopt the local school closing policy. Unfortunately, there's nothing falling from the sky yet and the schools are running on schedule; and yet, the dreaded "W.M." is due any time. I feel responsible for these ladies. The last thing I want is to gather and then be required to send everyone home; back out onto the roads for a second time. Grrr... it's not easy. The temperature is hovering at 30 degrees and our local weatherman is now predicting a rainy finish to the "event" before it's all said and done. Lovely. An "event" I didn't even buy a ticket for... Life is Good, and sometimes unpredictable.

Update-- Cancellation issued at 9 AM!
The peace of mind associated with this decision is glorious!

Well, while our schools were closed yesterday, they are opening at 10AM today. Our grandson drove up the 42 miles yesterday and skidded both coming and going...he called at 11 to say he was back at school. People here don't know how to drive on it.

As to your quilt ministry, would you please email me and tell me about it. We are looking at starting one here.

Thanks for all your loving kindness to me!!

With scenes like like this I'm glad you were home safe and out of the ice and snow!

Amen. I know the decision was the right one now.

I'm so jealous I can't stand it! I work at a school way north of you and need a snow day SO bad! And it just doesn't seem to be in the cards for us!! Life is good but sometimes it is peculiarly frustrating!!!!

Nancy, I'm more than happy to share! I borrowed a page from your book and did my Sunday School lesson this morning in the "found" time! Thanks.

Hello! this is my fisrt visit to your blog...I saw your comment on shelia's. I have been posting quilts too!

I hope you are having a lovely day inspite of or because of the W M!
I have been blogging about the weather too....now I can't decide when the weather is going to give me a window to drive to the city where my mother is. I am supposed to be there for her after her cataract surgery on Monday....if we only knew for sure if the roads would be icy.

The weather here in Chicagoland is cold and it has been snowing (freezing rain) off and on all day.

I just posted on my blog that I got my goodies today. I love it!
THANK-YOU!
