Before I Was A Quilter...

...or a college graduate, or a married lady, or a mother, I went to the senior prom! The date on the back of this snapshot is 14 May, 1971. My escort way back then turned out to be a keeper; he's now my husband of almost 32 years! Some things are just worth hanging on to... him, and the car in the background; (1964 Oldsmobile Jetstar '88 convertible) it's parked in our basement, under a cover. We've gladly let go of a few things too. I don't have this demure dress anymore, and my husband has long since traded in these glasses for contact lenses. Thanks, Beemoosie, for challenging us to dig out a prom picture and post it. Mine was found buried under a few more layers of dust that yours!

Wow, how young you both were. Long time ago. IF, I had graduated it would have been in 1958,about the time our son was born. SO no pictures from here. I'm not sure I was ever that young. You both look stunning. Hope you remember having a good time!!!!

What a shame we don´t have proms over here. Thanks for sharing your pictures. You all look very nice. I especially like your husband´s glasses! I had some like that as well at some point! Take care.

I missed this post yesterday, but imagine my surprise this morning when this photo of the two of you popped up. To me, you both look exactly the same! (Well, almost....) Our senior prom was a wonderful evening, full of fun and promise, and how lucky we were that we both ended up keeping our dashing escorts. Sometimes I think about the friendship we've shared for over 42 years (!!) and I realize how blessed we are to share common memories.

Now I am challenged to dig out our prom pictures. Stay tuned!

Thanks for your comment about Shiori-chan's calligraphy. She is an excellent student (I think in all areas!) but I did help her with her composition a bit. She is an amazing student and I have a feeling she will go far. I'll pass along your comments to her. Thank you again.

I had glasses just like your husbands in 1971. I should look for that picture. No, maybe not. Lovely picture of you with your beautiful daughter.
