Embroidery

I've been spending the hot afternoons this week inside, working with my embroidery software program, creating gifts. These are more of my burp cloth creations; luckily, there's no shortage of babies being born right now! I am also working on personalizing a blanket and pillow shams as well as a few sets of towels. My daughter was at home yesterday, she watched me at the computer for awhile before asked if she could try her hand at creating some monograms. She took to it quite easily, actually I think that she really enjoyed doing this type of design work. She wouldn't necessarily enjoy the stitching portion, I don't think; she's never really taken to sewing! (How'd that happen?) Her computer skills, however, are top notch. She showed me some handy shortcuts for cutting and pasting that I will definitely use, too... ahhhh, the time I'll save!

The forecast is for another hot afternoon.
Looks like I'll be doing more of the same today!
Life is Good!

These are adorable. I have embroidery software but haven't used it yet! I have had it for a long time and shame on me. It kind of intimidates me.

My daughter doesn't sew much either. Yet.

What beautiful embroidery. My daughter doesn't sew much either - somehow in ur family hobbies get "owned" by people, and then it is hard for others to allow themselves to do it too.

Oh.... those came out sweet. I can't get my cherries to work out. Still puckering around the stem despite three layers of stabilizer. I'm thinking that there must be something wrong with the design and I haven't played enough with DP5 to figure it out! Can I come over for a tutorial!?! lol Thanks for sharing!

How nice to be able to sit & sew in the cool.
We are having cold days & nights, & I am not complaining!
My daughter taught me to quilt, but she is not really interested in other sewing, apart from cross stitch.

Those projects look like a lot of fun. Do you have special program for design?

Very cute little embroideries, my daughter has made about 6 quilts but chooses not to sew but I am sure one day will come back to it, most 21 years olds aren't into sewing
