A Bee-hive Of Activity!

It's me-- Hannes! I'm posting for my Mom today. She hosted her Bee last evening in "our" room (the studio). There was lots of chatter and quilts and tote bags and baskets with interesting smells, I had a really good time sniffing every little thing! Naturally, everyone wanted to pet me and tell me how handsome I was. Mom bragged about how smart I am, I was a little embarrassed by that (but not too much!). Quiltkeemosabe wowed the group with her string quilt, it was nice but she never even put it down on the floor so that I could pose, or better yet, nap on it; that was too bad.

One of my Mom's friends brought a quilt that she had just received back from a long-arm quilter. I don't know what that means but I guess that quilter must be a baboon, or ape, or something like that... that would have been fun, I wish she would have brought her long-arm quilter with her to play with me! Everyone ooohed and aaahed over the stitches, I didn't even know primates could quilt until last night! I have a lot to learn; Mom quilts her own quilts, I never knew what I was missing.

My Mom and another lady worked on cutting out their blocks of the month. I do know what that is, I know that they have LOTS of pieces!I like it when Mom has her friends come to my house. She serves snacks and I put on my most pitiful begging look just in case someone might want to reward me. Mom never feeds me people food, but I don't think she really knows how much I like it! I always hope that her friends might be smarter than she is about things like that. Hey, you can't blame a boy for trying!! Right?I hope you all enjoyed my report. That's it for now... oh, yeah-- I'm supposed to end with this:
Life is Good!
(It would be even better with a little piece of cheese...)

Oh, Hannas, you should never be embarrassed when your Mom tells her friends how smart you are!! You've done a wonderful job with your post today. Think of all the time Mom would save if she could just dictate her postings to you! Please tell Quiltkeemosabe that her string quilt is just wonderful! It is a shame she wouldn't let you lie on it though. ;-) Good luck with your future attempts to have the ladies share their snacks. How could they resist?!!

Here's a little scratch behind the ears for you: {{^..^}}

What a great post, isn't it great the way our little friends like to be by our sides, especially when there is food around.

What a hoot! Awww, such a cute little doggie. Please get Hannes just a little teeny piece of cheese. He deserves a treat for such a humorous report.

Dear Hannes, I was so blown away by your writing ability that it took me a while to compose an answer. I'm glad you liked my quilt but let me explain why I didn't put in on the floor for you to lay on. Miss Cookie (my cat)took it upon herself to hold the blocks in place while I was arranging them--she does such a wonderful job, stretching out as long as she can to hold as many blocks as possible--so I knew the blocks would smell of cat and just drive you absolutely nuts!!!!! But you were such a good dog at the bee meeting and I will talk to Mom about giving you some people food!

Dear Heart-throb Hannes,

You are an excellent writer and very, very wise. Not to mention SO cute.

I'm not mentioning to Bo that I'm writing to a dog. I think it would make him nervous.

Hannes, you are the most adorable fella, and you are a wonderful blogger! Dewey and Badger will be green with envy when they find out that you not only get to attend the quiltin' bee at your house BUT that you get to be pitiful so your Mom's friends will give you 'bites'. :D I just don't know what to think about a person that would bring a fresh newly quilted string quilt and not let you 'break' it in for her...maybe a nip on the ankle to get her attention??? *grins* P.S. That last remark was a suggestion from Dewey and Badger. ;p

Hannes - Thanks for the update - I loved your "primate" quilting interpretation of the Long Arm quilter. You really need to let your Mom allow you to update the Blog more often and you are such a handsome fella.

Hope a piece of cheese hit the floor for you.

Oh Hannes, OUr mother is really strict about no human food too. But she does let us have a little cheese now & then.
Love from Honey & Leo.
Ps, It was not fair you were not allowed on that lovely quilt!
