Breaking Through The Surface

Whatever this upper respiratory infection is, or was, that has befallen me, I feel as though I've finally broken through. The only thing I can liken it to is being under water; I feel as though I've broken through the surface, at long last, and am left exhausted by the effort. What a week (weak)! Sorry, that was too obvious to pass up. Time for a quilty post. Rarely, if ever, do I jump RIGHT ON a magazine cover quilt pattern and rush out immediately to find the components for construction. This month's Fons and Porter's Love of Quilting is the exception! "Red Sky at Night" drew me in with a magnetic force. When vacationing in New England last month I found the required eight red fat quarters while on that infamous Five Shop Hop! Suffice it to say I have enough "go withs" in my existing stash to flesh out the rest of this beauty! I can feel my energy level rising just thinking about getting started. Did I mention that red is my favorite color and Ocean Waves is one of my favorite patterns? I think this might be just what the doctor ordered. My head's above the surface now and I'm good to go. Stay tuned...

Life is Good!

Hmmm..."under water", "Ocean's Waves", "head's above the surface"....I sense a theme there. Somehow I'm surprised this quilt isn't going to be blue and green!

Glad you're feeling better. Hugs!!! :-)

Looks like a fun project. I know what you mean about the head problem, I am fighting something right now myself. It is terrible, just came on quickly and doesn't want to leave. Time does cure all ails though.

Glad to hear that you have broken through the surface - upper respiratory infections are not fun.

I love your new project as well as your fabric selections. Every once in a while those magazine covers grab us and pull us in, huh?

You have my sympathy re the URI. DH Doc has been sick all week with a URI himself and it's taken its toll. The quilt looks like good medicine. It's a striking quilt as shown on the cover and no doubt you will make a lovely one of your own. Continue to take care and I hope you are all better very soon.

That is a great quilt on the cover! The reds look wonderful...sigh. I tried ocean waves once but didn't finish - while working on it I found one at an antique show! sort of took the wind out of my sail...
