This isn't an original idea, I saw it in a magazine years ago. In fact, this curtain rod and hanging hardware have been waiting in the stash closet for exactly as long! Yesterday my husband installed it here in the studio, I just love it! The beauty of a rod mounted like this is the ease of ability to change out your quilts. Simply unclip one and replace with another, as if by magic; you can change your quilts as often as your mind.

I have one outside on the porch. The hooks stay there, but the rings and pole I keep in the house. I take my finished quilt pictures out there. Now my sweet DH does not have his FEET hanging out the bottom! I'm also able, with my trusty ladder, to hang them and snap their picture when my husband is out of town. Seems as soon as they are DONE, I give them away!
What a great idea . . . lets you skip the step of putting on a hanging sleeve - a step I seldom enjoy *s*
I love the idea! I've been thinking of putting something like that across the sliding closet doors in my sewing room so I could create a design wall.
I could attach flannel or a light weight batting to the rod and I've be able to pin up blocks! *VBS*
Thank you very much for the inspiration!!! Big hugs, Finn
I use curtain rods to hang up my quilts as well, but haven't seen those with the loops. How do the loops stay on the quilt?
Great idea! It looks lovely, & is just what I would like in my house.
I love the curtain rod, but more important ( to me) I love that quilt! very pretty. ****VBS***

Thanks for jogging my memory. I think I read the same article and then promptly forgot about it. Love the idea.
Geeeesh - thanks for the reminder! I have that same setup in a closet waiting, waiting, waiting -- LOL! It's a great idea!
That's how I hang a quilt in my longarm room. Can't remember where I first saw this idea.
Great idea! That looks fabulous!
Looks like you are putting the finishing touches to the new room if you are hanging quilts. Can't wait to see it!
Great way to hand a quilt and you can change it anytime you desire.
Thanks for sharing.
Great idea. I will have to figure out what wall I would use...
Just lovely -- and something I've been thinking about for myself. Hmmmnn....
This is a really great idea! I also love Beth's idea for taking pictures.
I have a rod and rings but in the new house I do not have the wall space. If I ever move I am going to make sure I have one wall for hanging quilts.
Thanks for reminding me of that idea!
That really looks great with that quilt - as well as it being just a great idea!
I think I have a couple of old curtain rods like that. Much prettier than a sleeve. I have seen those loops for attaching curtains to the rods - in fact I might have some of those as well....
I had one of those installed - probably about a year ago... I love it. (Don't ask me how many times I have changed out the quilt...)
