I know I'm getting older. I'm choosing to count blessings, not years. I have LOTS of blessings this year alone! Our baby is getting married soon, very soon. My husband is retiring at the end of June. We are expecting a grandson in August. Amazing, blessed events; each and every one. These types of events are reserved for those who've gained experiences, and collected blessings, along the way. Something happened this weekend that made me smile, I'm not saying this occurrence made me feel old, or even particularly blessed, it just made me smile! Our daughter called on Saturday. She and her husband have bought a mini-van. Yep, the couple who are the epitome of all that is cool and fashionable are now driving the very symbol of impending parenthood! I'm so very glad I've lived to see this day; for if blessings could be pearls, then it's moments such as these that become the sweet, strong string that holds them all together. This accessory one earns only by living!

You are SO right! Thanks for sharing another wonderful post...
How cute is this??? M looks wonderful!
A minivan is a great family vehicle, but try to tell that to my son. Once he has to load his son into the back of his MINI Cooper a few times, I think a mini-VAN is going to look mighty good to him!
Are you implying that a mini van isn't cool? :)
Yep, a good sign of impending parenthood.....Life really is GOOD!!!! VBS

I LOVE MY MINI VAN :>)!! Because we make so many trips and often have extra family members that are going the same place, it just makes sense, fill up the van and go! SINCE we spend so much filling up the gas tank, we might as well make the best of it!
You blog entries are just so realistic -- thank you for letting us share your world!
PS - that Mini van is exactly like mine, even the same color - love it, yes I do!
Heartwarming Love, *karendianne.
"If Blessings Were Pearls..."... Ohh... that's a great saying! And a wonderful post.
I am loving your little pieces of wisdom with your posts, by the way! It is funny how life turns a complete circle...
Somewhere I failed as a gearhead while raising my sister...
*Shakes head and walks away*
Too true!
