I love Advent calendars... I collected these three when we lived in Europe in the late 90's. They hold just as much charm for me now, ten years later. I always thought how much fun it would be to make a quilt patterned after the dollhouse style, pictured left. Well, that hasn't happened but it still may... one day!
If you look carefully you might just find a little Hannes in one of these calendars! Awwww... Enjoy, from my home to yours.

I see him, too! I took my Advent wreath (with 25 embroidered ornaments, each 2" or smaller) to work this year ~ reminded me of the years it was used here at home when the boys were growing up... co-workers were taking turns picking the ornament for each day of December... such good moments to share.

Many of the paperAdvent calendars in Austria are huge - and wonderful works of art too... and almost always thrown out after Christmas. Great that you still have yours to treasure! Merry Christmas.

Several years ago there was a pattern for rooms of a house that looked a lot like the advent calendar! I'll see if I can find it...
