Worry, Replaced

To say I've been worried this past week would be the understatement of the century. Kyle has moved, it's official. He has an address. The worry began (on my part) when he drove, without much rest, from Pittsburgh, PA to Marble Falls, TX. and his new life there. I don't know when I've been happier than the moment he called and said he'd arrived safely. I figured, then, that my worry was over. I was wrong. He sent photos of a place he'd found to stay, let's just say there was only one direction to go from that place and it wasn't down; an entirely new dimension of worry descended upon me. Among those photos of where he was living was this scene, his view, I found this picture both calming and hopeful; it spoke to me quietly, like a reassuring whisper. I decided to concentrate on this vista and pray for my son's safety, for his well being and for his happiness. He called yesterday afternoon, it was good to hear his voice, as always. He started off by saying that he thought he might be moving; I smiled, I knew then, God had intervened! We got a few updates throughout the afternoon and evening as he prepared to pack up. He has, indeed, moved to a wonderful place, close to work. He's happy, he's safe, and he's excited about both his living arrangements and the challenges of a career in a great, new setting. I'm going to keep this photograph on my desktop to remind me. Thanks be to God!

Philippians 4:6 ~ Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
Life is Good!

I am so glad he is safe and sound. I don't think as Moms we can help worrying about our children no matter how old they are. Isn't it wonderful when God does intervene and give us peace. I know that some days I feel like I pray myself to death. Usually by the next day all is well. Hope you have a peaceful, worry free day!

I'm glad he made it safe and sound. That's a long road to travel from PA to TX especially alone. Interesting how quickly the move happened to ease your worries. Life IS good. God is great!

Moms worry. Period. This is why my son did not call me last week to tell me that a car hit him! He was on campus on his bike in the crosswalk! He came home this weekend and showed the scars and told me his reasoning of not calling. He was right.

What a lovely view he has!! I know it must be hard, praying is the best thing you can do for yourself and for him. I hope he is happy with his new venture.

No matter how old they are, we still worry. It's our life work!

Isn't that what we mom's do best - worry? I'm glad everything seems to have turned out for the best for your son!

That is good news and a great reminder that God hears our prayers and knows our concerns sometimes before we do!

*whew* It's hard not to worry . . . . just when you think you've stopped - there you are worrying again. Glad all things are now looking positive *s*

I think to worry is what *moms*/grandmas* do often...even when we try not too! God understands (thank heavens) that we just don't stop the worry part, but He reminds us He is always hearing us, by resolving the issues in His way! I am relieved with you that your "worry is replaced"...my prayers will continue!

Oh gosh! How that verse rings in me these days! And you know, I think there is a difference in worrying about our children and worrying about other things. Somehow the children worries loom larger... God is always in control! I say that over and over.

I definitely understand your worry, but I'm glad all is well now. Your son and daughter-in-law are in my thoughts and prayers.
